Chapter 5: FBI Interigations

Alina's pov
The next morning we were all sitting in the living room of our suite. I was leaning against Daniel while his arm rested on my shoulders. We all knew what was happening today. The FBI were going to arrest us and ask us about our trick last night. I was super nervous. After all this is my first interrogation. Daniel would squeeze my shoulder for reassurance. Henley was upstairs packing making sure she got everything. Daniel and I had packed everything the night before so we were ready. The door slams open and around 15-20 FBI agents run into the room yelling for us to put our hands in the air. Danny and I raised our hands, our fingers interlocked. "Drop her hand!" One of the agents said. Danny let go of my hand. "Oh!" Henley said as she came down the stairs. "Do one of you guys mind giving us a hand with our bags?" She asked with a sweet smile on her face. "Let's go," The head agent yelled. We were all shoved out of our hotel room and into the elevator. When we got down to the lobby everyone was cheering for us as we were escorted out of the building. Jack, Merritt and I were put in one car and Henley and Daniel were put in another. Merritt was making jokes on how by the time we get to the station Daniel and Henley would be no more. I laughed so hard I should have abs. When we got to the facility we were all put into separate rooms. Henley and I were practicing what we were going to say to them. Two agents entered my room and sat down in front of me. "Alina Taliah Ann Lau, age 23, arrested for robbing a bank." The male agent says looking at me. I nodded my head silently. "Can you tell me your names so at least I won't call you Blondie or asshole." I asked smiling. The man smirked at me. "I'm agent Dylan Rhodes and this is agent Alma Dray." He said not caring at all. "Now hopefully you won't be as stubborn as your boyfriend and the others. How do you rob the bank?" He says looking at me with strict eyes. "I don't know," I said with a strong voice. "What do you mean you don't know?" He asked me. You could see the anger in his eyes. " They used magic, but no one told me how they did it." I lied to them. Agent Rhodes finally exploded. "That is not true! Tell me how they did it or I will not hesitate to arrest you!" He yelled at me. "Magic! They used Magic!" I said and banged my head on the table. "And if you arrest me. That means that you believe in magic yourself." I continued. He breathed an angry sigh and stormed out of the room.
10 minutes later
An agent came in and unlocked the handcuffs holding me to the table. When I walked to the lobby I saw the other horsemen waiting for me. When I got to them Daniel put his arm around my shoulders and we walked out of there with our luggage behind us. We were then driven to the airport and we boarded Arthur's private jet. I walked to the back of the plane and lied down. I fell into a deep sleep only after a few minutes.

After my nap

I woke up to someone shaking me. "Hey babe you need to wake up." Daniel said to me as my eyes fluttered open. I smiled then sat up and stretched. He leaned down and gave me a peck on the lips. I stood up and looked at him. " I could get used to waking up like that." I said then walking past him to find the others.

Henley and Merritt were sitting across from each other and Merritt was attempting to flirt with her. When I sat down Merritt turned his attention to me. " Morning sleeping beauty. How was your nap?" he asked with a smug smile on his face. From my left I heard Henley stifle a laugh. "Yes it was quite delightful, thanks for asking." I said to him. A minute later Daniel came into the room. "Hey guys, we have a show to prepare for." He said. All three of us stood up. Merritt looked at Daniel in the eyes and Daniel turned away swiftly. " No,no,no. You're not doing that thing to me. No!" Daniel said walking in the opposite direction of Merritt. "What thing?" Merritt asked acting as though he was doing nothing at all. "I'm just looking at you." he continued. Daniel looked annoyed. " No, you're not. I've been watching you for a year. I know all your little tricks." Daniel says. I let out a small giggle and Merritt turns and smiles at me. " Is that what they are to you? Tricks?" Merritt asks with fake hurt in his eyes. " Yes, it's gimmicks. It's a Barnum statement. It's reading the eyes, body language. I get it." Merritt smirks at this then looks at me and smiles. My eyes go wide and I start shaking my head. " If it's so easy why don't you do Alina?" He suggests. Daniel looks at me then shakes his head. " No. Alina is too easy I'll do Jasmyn." he says turning to face her. My face drops. Too easy. That comment really hurt, especially coming from my boyfriend. "No. Do me." Arthur says placing his iPad down on the table. "Okay," Daniel says going to stand in front of Arthur.

"Just stay with me okay? So Art, you were a tough kid, you know a real rapscallion. You had a dog, a real tough dog. A brutish breed, like a real.... I want to say Ben the bulldog?" Daniel tried and I tried not to laugh along with the other horsemen, but we failed majorly. "Actually I was a prissy little tot, and I had a white fluffy cat named Snuffles." Arthur corrects. We all started laughing. Daniel looked at me and sent me a playful glare. " I can do better than that." Jack says from behind me. " Yeah let Jack do one!" Henley and I yelled. Danny shakes his head and turns around. " Come on. One more time," Daniel holds up a finger and focused really hard on Arthur. " Let's do family. You had an uncle on your mother's side. He had a real, kind of... masculine name. A real kind of salt to the earth... you know a real stick it to you. Like it was some kind of Paul. Thompson? Was it a Paul...?" Then you could see that Daniel gave up. " Okay I got nothing" Arthur smiles at him. " Nearly there." He says. Daniel perks up at this. " Was I?" Arthur laughs. " Yeah my uncles name was Cushman Armitage." I laughed again and Daniel glared at me. I sent him a wink and he turned back to Arthur. " Really, Snuffles and Armitage? That was your childhood?" Daniel asks him not expecting an answer. I walked over to him and gave him a peck on the cheek while wrapping my arms around his waist. Daniel wrapped his arm around my shoulders. " I certainly hope tonight's show will be better than this." Arthur says laughing. I smile at him. " Just you wait. It definitely will be."

When we arrived in New Orleans I smiled and immediately take out my phone and call Pilar.

" Hey Pilar." I said when she picked up.

"Omg! Hey I haven't heard from you in forever."

" I know its been too long."

" So hey guess who is going to your show tonight?!"

My eyes widened. "You got tickets!" I screamed into the phone.

"Yeah I did. What kind of best friend would I be if I didn't. And I got the only backstage pass cause I was the first one to buy tickets."

" Ahh! I can't wait to see you." Daniel looked at me and called me over. " Hey Pilar I have to go. Can't wait to see you. Love you!"

"Love you too!" Bye." she said as she hung up. I can't wait for the show tonight.
