Frigga gazes down at the sleeping Auria. Tears falling down her beautiful face. She'd always wanted a daughter, and when visiting Oppenheim she had spent hours with her and Amriyna.
Auria was polite, sweet, understanding, wise, beautiful. And the fact she had lost so much killed Frigga. As she wiped her tears, she realized there was something in the casket that wasn't supposed to be there. It was a letter. One addressed to Odin. With a huff, she opened the casket and took the letter. Before sealing the casket and the chamber that it was in.
Frigga rushed to Odin but found Thor had beaten her to his attention.
"Leave us." Frigga said, confusing the Prince.
"Mother why? I have not done anything to offend." Thor begged.
"It is not your place to question me at this moment now leave us and let me speak to your father in private and lock the doors." Frigga snapped, not something she did often.
Thor reluctantly obeyed but wondered what had gotten his mother so wound up, so he went and found his friends Lady Sif and the Warriors Three.
"There is a letter addressed to you from Emperor Kjollomnen." Frigga says, sinking to her knees.
"Let me read it." Odin replies.
Frigga hands it to Odin.
It reads;
My dear friend King Odin of Asgard,
It is with my deepest regrets if you are receiving this letter then I, along with my beautiful wife Amriyna are dead. If you are receiving this, then it means that you must have found the casket in which my daughter Auria rests.
Auria is a wise child, she will understand when she awakes upon her 21st birthday. In order for her to keep a royal line, I am asking permission that my daughter and your eldest son be wed, exactly three full moons after she awakes. I am sorry to put this on you old friend but I wish to see my girl grow into a wise queen. Which if you allow it to happen, she will. We have been like brothers in the past, so why not let that happen. Be the father I cannot, she adores Frigga and has often told me she wishes to be as such a queen as she has one day, but I will not see it. The key around her neck is the key to a hidden chamber inside the casket which contains the crown jewels of Oppenheim.
I apologize for any inconvenience in this letter but all I want is the best for my girl.
Your oldest friend,
Kjollomnen.
P.S, in the envelope of this letter is a little note from Auria. She insisted she put her mark on her future. Little devil.
Odin opened the letter from Auria.
Odin the allfather,
I hope this letter receives you well, as a royal myself I understand that some daily challenges can be done with the watchful eye of the kingdom, therefore making it easier to become more of a jester than a royal. If you are reading this, I am in the coma that my father has put me into for the sake of keeping a last heir for his kingdom. The coma offers me good dreams, I am protected from Malekith during it, but when I awake I will be lost and afraid. Please help me when I wake. I do not wish to be alone during the period of mourning. You are one of the wisest men I know and Asgard is lucky to have you and Frigga as Queen. I send my blessings to your sons Thor and Loki and wish them well.
Continue to rule as you have done, wisely and fairly for the best of us will ride the sunsets of Valhalla one day.
All my love
HRH Princess Auria Amriyna Frigga Eve of Oppenheim
Odin cannot help but let out a tear at Auria's letter to him and as Frigga reads it she lets out a wail that can be heard throughout the kingdom.
Thor and Loki burst in to find both of their parents sobbing and try to comfort them. But they are in mourning for twenty one days and all will be silent.
