Chapter 31
Michael’s POV
4:37.
Come on, why can’t it be 5:00 already!
I glared at the kitchen clock angrily, pushing myself off the counter and heading upstairs. Ivy had texted me earlier saying she would be home around 5:00 and I was planning meeting her there.
I walked upstairs and into my bedroom shutting the door behind me. I sat at my desk and turned on my laptop, drumming my fingers my desk impatiently. Finally, the welcome page came up and I quickly typed in my password.
Hitting the internet icon, I waited for Google to come up. I figured I could check the sports page while I waited for 5:00 to roll around.
10 Ways to Impress the Women in Your Life!
The ad flashed across the screen, cheesy flashing lights around it. I hovered the mouse over it, debating whether or not to click it. What the hell, I have nothing better to do.
I clicked on the ad and the webpage came up. I skimmed through the article till I got to the list at the bottom.
1. Chocolates. What women doesn’t want chocolate?
2. Love notes :)
3. Surprise affection. Unexpected hugs or kisses always make your women happy.
I rolled my eyes at how stupid these ideas were. Going to close the page, I noticed an advertisement on the side. It was advertising some insurance company, but what caught my attention were the flowers around the side. Flowers.
I jumped out of the chair and ran over to my dresser, grabbing my phone, wallet, and keys. I walked quickly to my closet and grabbed my shoes before running out of my room and down the stairs.
“Mom! I’m running to the store and then to Ivy’s! I’ll be back soon,” I called out as I ran out the garage, not waiting for my mom to answer. Jumping into the truck, I turned the keys in the ignition, the truck humming underneath me.
Backing out of the driveway, I turned the music up as I drove down the street to the store.
Hey girl, you make me wanna write a song,
Sit you down, I'll sing it to you all night long,
I've had a melody in my head since she walked in here and knocked me dead.
Yea girl, you make me wanna write a song
I tapped the beat on the steering wheel, smiling as the chorus started; it reminded me of Ivy.
And it goes like ooh, what I wouldn't do
To write my name on your heart, get you wrapped in my arms baby all around you.
And it goes like hey, girl I'm blown away,
Yea it starts with a smile and it ends with an all night long slow kiss,
