Chapter 2: Surprise Surprise

"I'll miss you Nik." I sighed hugging my brother goodbye.

"I'll miss you more." Nik laughed light heartedly.

"You promise you'll call?" I asked him.

"I promise." He smiled.

"And you promise if anythings wrong you'll tell me because I'll be home as fast as I can-

"Demi I promise." He laughed.

"Good because I swear I'll kick your ass if you don't." I joked.

"I don't doubt that sister." Nik smiled.

"And you get Elijah back ok?" I questioned.

"Ok." Nik laughed.

I smiled back then turned to Hayley and hugged her.

"You look after my niece or nephew." I smiled at her. "And look after my brother too."

Hayley laughed then I backed away and lifted my bags.

"Bye Nik." I sighed. "I love you."

"I love you more." Nik stuttered back.

He kissed my forehead then I turned around and left my brother, again.

I dropped my bags in the hallway of Klaus' Mystic Falls home which I would now be living in, alone. I was dreading being back, I had to face my demons like Nik said but my demons are Stefan and Matt and Caroline and Elena and Tyler. I had so many people to deal with, the good thing is Caroline and Elena are away to college so I won't feel the guilt every time I see Caroline. First, I had to see Stefan because he was the most important.

I grabbed my keys and left the house again. Driving to the Salvatore's I started to egg butterflies in my stomach. This was my return, I haven't seen these people in what felt like forever and I had to explain to everyone why I was no longer pregnant. This, in simple terms, sucked!

I stopped the car outside the house and tapped my fingers on the stirring wheel for a few minutes while biting my lip then I finally got the courage to get out of the car. As I walked towards the door, I stopped. I went to turn back to the car but I wouldn't let myself leave. I was just so nervous to see Stefan but I managed to turn back anyway and I knocked on the door.

My heart was racing as the door opened and I expected to see Stefan but instead I saw Damon which still made me nervous. He looked me up and down with his mouth open, speechless.

"Close your mouth Damon, you'll catch flies." I told him walking past him and into the house then into the living room and Damon followed.

"Demi? You've really changed, you look great." Damon complemented me. "Why are you back here?"

I shrugged my shoulders and put my hands into my leather jacket pockets.

"You know for a pregnant girl, you looked amazing." Damon laughed.

"I'm not pregnant." I put my head down. "Not anymore."

"What? What happened?" He asked me.

I walked over to the table and helped myself to the scotch. I would need alcohol to get through this.

"I lost my baby." I replied, taking a big gulp of the scotch. "Hayden, my son, is gone and it's all my fault. I was doing too much, too much magic, too much turning people to vampires, it just all got too much and I lost him....."

Damon walked over to me in a slow pace and when he reached me, he hugged me..... That's when I broke. If Damon Salvatore thinks I need to be comforted then I'm allowed to cry, so I cried.
