Surprise didn't flicker in Zoe's eyes.

If this hadn't happened a thousand times in the past few years, maybe her reaction would have been different. Instead, all she felt was disappointment and irritation against her self absorbed mother about the fact that, once more, she had no say in any of the decisions made in the family.

Zoe paced the wooden floorboards of the kitchen in a pattern engraved in her brain as she tried to focus on the issue at hand. The dints in the floor where Zoe had dropped bowls, glasses and mugs seemed unimportant now. She had long since given up worrying about damaging the property; she only ended up staying there for 6 months in any case.

The dreaded words escaped her mother's lips in a flurry.

"We are moving."

Rosalie and Harry were sat at the kitchen table as Zoe paced backwards and forwards across the edge. The 5 month old chairs still held the smell of new paint from when Rosalie had decided to pick up and move for the nth time. Now the chairs felt like a waste of money. Zoe could almost see the frustration in Harry's fingers as he gripped the table and glared at his mother.

Jewels was lying on the floor near the table's leg, watching the commotion with confusion in her eyes. If she could speak English, Zoe had a feeling that she would be annoyed too. After all, what kind of dog liked moving around all the time?

Harry was itching his head with his right hand, his other hand twitching palm down on the wood. He always did this when they had this conversation, or any conversation really, that he felt awkward in. Zoe, on the other hand, preferred to pace and internally build herself up to the extent where she almost exploded. The latter was probably the worst way of dealing with this situation but Zoe couldn't help it. She'd had enough.

Rosalie was glancing at both of them in turn, excitement from before draining from her face. "Why not? There's nothing to do here! It's boring!" she exclaimed. Zoe could see Rosalie swallowing as she waited for a response to her revelation.

It never came, at least not the response she was hoping for.

It was obvious that Rosalie's children did not share the same excitement she held for this news. It wasn't surprising, considering as they'd moved several times previously to get to this position.

Zoe and Harry were very similar in looks but the way they acted was quite different. Harry was older and taller than her with a softer ridge on his nose. Both had the same dark chocolate coloured hair and bright blue eyes, the same smile and the same bone structure to their face. When they met new people, they found themselves explaining that they were not in fact twins but just very close in age and appearance. When people got to know them, it was obvious that they were completely different people in personality; it was like they were each other's missing half. Due to this, Rosalie hadn't expected both not to be pleased at the news.

She tried again pleadingly, "We'll meet new people, make new friends and have a better life!"

It wasn't going well.

"Do you even think about our feelings, Mum? Harry and I love it here! Why do we have to move? It's not fair." Zoe complained, stopping every now and again in her tracks so that she could stare at her mother with disgust. Rosalie was a very selfish person and Zoe was getting tired of ignoring her actions when it was causing problems for the family. This always happened and this time Zoe had had enough. She wanted to explode. It was like dealing with a child sometimes.

"I'll get a better job and we can get a better house! Don't you want that? Don't you want to live in luxury?" She stuttered, perspiration appearing on the edges of her hair line. She was fighting a losing battle, she knew, gripping at loose strings to try and get them to change their minds. Still she tried, her voice slightly slipping into desperation.
