Chapter 22 - Admit It

"Well, it's getting late don't you think?" Zane blurted out before he stood up and stretched. I looked at him, 'Is he really acting like nothing just happened there? He said he felt it too! Was he just lying or something?' I turned my gaze over to the clock that read 11:25. 'I guess it is getting kind of late.'

I look down to see Zane crouching in front of me, which scares me half to death because I didn't know he was there. "Zane, what are you doing?" I ask him.

Zane looks back at me, his eyebrows furrowed, "I have to take you back to your room. We are going back tomorrow, remember?"

I nod, not knowing what else to say. Without thinking, I climbed onto Zane's back, one again hanging my arms loose around his neck. My cheeks are as red as an apple at this point, it's so hard to control it. Zane stopped in front of my room and looked at me to say something. "K-Katelyn, I'm coming in with Zane, alright?" I stuttered.

"Yeah, sure, whatever," Katelyn responded from inside. Zane opened the door and took me over to my bed, setting me down on the comfy white bed sheet. Katelyn's eyes followed us rather suspiciously, it was like she was taking note of something.

Zane sighed, breaking my train of thought, "I'm going to bed, see you tomorrow." I smiled and nodded, waving at him as he left the room.

Once he shut the door, Katelyn turned towards me, "What's going on between you and him?"

"What do you mean?" I ask, as confused as ever. 'Why is she even asking that? There's nothing going on between Zane and I. Well, except for me having feelings for him. But, it's probably just another one-sided love anyways.'

"You know exactly what I mean," She responded, "I mean, have you seen your face before? You're as red as a tomato (Y/N)! Something is going on here that I don't know about."

'What in the world is she talking about? Yeah, sure, my face is red and everything but why is she thinking it has to do something with Zane? Technically, it does have to do with Zane, but Katelyn doesn't know that!' I yawn, "There's nothing going on. I'm going to sleep, goodnight." I lie my head against the pillow and close my eyes, instantly falling asleep.

Everyone was positioned outside, waiting for the cars to arrive. Even though Aphmau told me that I was going to be in the girls' car, Zane was still letting me piggy-back ride him. He claimed that it wasn't good for me to put any weight on it until it completely heals, which I understand, but that doesn't mean that he has to carry me around all the time. I could just simply stand on one foot here, we weren't even moving or anything.

"Zane, I can stand on my own," I told him, attempting to get out of his grasp. He still held on, not letting go which made my cheeks flush red again. 'Why do I have to become so flustered over this!?'

"I lost a bet, remember?" He asked, looking back at me.

"Yeah," I responded, "But I didn't think you would carry me the whole time."

He just shrugged and looked back in front of him, "I mean, you're not that heavy so it doesn't really matter."

I was just about to argue with him but the cars arrived. "Finally!" Travis yelled, grinning like an idiot. I rolled my eyes at him and turned my attention to everyone else. Both Zane and I were getting suspicious glances from several of them, which is starting to freak me out. I already told Katelyn that there is nothing between us but she still looks at us skeptically.

Zane put me in the girl's car without me noticing that we were even near it. I blushed and thanked him before he left to go to the other car, leaving me with very curious friends. Once my car door shut, everyone turned towards me. Aphmau had a mischievous grin on her face as she spoke, "So, what's this about Zane carrying you around everywhere, it can't be just a bet."

I furrowed my eyebrows at her, looking out the window and at the woods where all of this started, "It is a bet, nothing more, nothing less."

"Yeah, sure. I don't know if you know this but Zane tries to get out of every single bet that he loses to, he complains and complains. And you know what, he doesn't even look like he's upset about having to carry you around," Katelyn spoke.

I was kind of taken back by that, 'Why isn't he complaining about carrying me around?' Without noticing, my cheeks became heated which made all of the girls squeal in excitement. "(Y/N)-Senpai like Zane-kun, right?" Kawaii-Chan asked.

"W-What?" I stuttered, my red cheeks getting darker.

"Aww! It's so cute! Kawaii-Chan has to add this to Kawaii-Chan's shipping shrine. Kawaii-Chan will call it (Shipping Name)."

I stared at her dumbfounded, 'What's this about a shipping shrine?' Lucinda smiled at me, "I can tell from a mile away that you really like Zane, (Y/N)."

I turned my gaze towards her, still confused and flustered at the same time. "Come on, say it (Y/N)," Katelyn interjected.

"S-Say what?" I stuttered.

"Admit the truth, you like Zane," Aphmau told me.

I looked at all of them before taking a deep breath, "I have a crush on Zane."

Kawaii-Chan sighed and lay back a bit, "Thank goodness, I thought you may have had the hots for Reese-Senpai when you came over that one time. But, of course, that wouldn't have messed things up. I just would have taken care of you, that's all."

I've been having some trouble figuring out when I'm going to update and stuff. I started to think about Monday and Friday but I feel like updating 2 chapters a week just takes too long and it would get boring. Do you guys mind if I post like every 2 days or so? If I can't post every two days (because I have band camp coming up) then I'll just post randomly.

(Oh and by the way, I finished the drawing and I only drew their heads which is kind of creepy, I know, but I can't draw bodies that well xD. Btw thank you summerKID423 for suggesting that I draw the scene where Zane is yelling at Garroth that he can beat him at any game - Chapter 21)
