-Valerie POV-

It was the year if 1863. I met this handsome and sweet man name Damon Salvatore. He was all I wanted in a man loyalty, a friend, protection, and love. We grew closer and became friends, but we wanted something more then friendship we wanted love, but we didn't have that spark that lets you know when he is the one. My father Sir John Brown hated the idea of me and Damon Salvatore being friends or being together.

On my birthday June 1, 1863 my father sent me away from Mystic Falls and sent me to an old friend of his Carlisle Cullen to get me away from Damon Salvatore."Father please you can't do this please father," I said "I'm sorry but he is not the one for you," my father said"How dare you say he is not the one, just because my mother left you to be miserable doesn't mean I want to be miserable just like you," I said. Before I could even say another word my father slapped me. "How dare you speak to me in that tone," my father said.

"Take her away and make sure you don't stop," my father said
Before I could even say another world or even say goodbye to Damon we were gone but before I went unnoticeable I saw Damon's lips moving. "I will find you," Damon said and I nodded my head.
As we rode off and I thought about Damon and how I would never see him again and I also thought about who is Carlisle Cullen. I heard about him and they said that he was a doctor and one if the best and married and had a family. As I thought about it I hoped his family was welcoming.

When we got to Carlisle's home I knew I was nervous and happy because we were out of Mystic Falls and in Forks and away from my father. When we stopped I saw a beautiful, and pale man with beautiful eyes and I knew that was Carlisle Cullen.
"Welcome Valerie and you may come in," Carlisle said.
"Thank you," I said and he smiled. As i walked in all I could see was beautiful and pale people like him waiting to meet me.
"Valerie this is my family Esme, Alice, Jasper, Rosalie, Emmett, and Edward," Carlisle said. As soon as I looked at Edward I knew that we would become good friends and take my mind off of Damon.
"Nice to meet you everyone," I said. And they all looked me and waved but the only people that didn't were Rosalie and Jasper.
"Carlisle can I talk to you in the other room please," I asked and everyone looked at me in a welcoming way except for Jasper which was weird.
"Yes you may," Carlisle said
As we walked in to the other room I noticed that everyone's room didn't have a bed and I knew something was suspicious.
"Carlisle I know that you are a vampire and I know that because my mother was one," I said
"Yes I am Valerie and I know that you mother was one," Carlisle said. As he said that I wasn't surprised I was scared what if they hurt me i thought and Edward came in. "Valerie it's okay we are not gonna hurt you," Edward said and I was surprised and curious."How did you know what I was thinking," "I can read minds," Edward said. As he said that I showed him something that I never told anyone or showed anyone. Than he read my mind and I ran over to him and hugged him and before I could pull away.
"Valerie no!!!!," Carlisle said and ran to me but it was to late and Edward bit me on my neck and I fell to the floor screaming in pain as his venom went through me like lightning and as the pain kept going I blacked out.
When I woke up three days later I felt different colder hungry but not for food, but for............ Blood.

By the time I got my thirst for human blood under control and drink animal blood it was almost 1864. Sometimes Carlisle would visit Mystic Falls for me to check on Damon but, in 1864 when Carlisle and Esme went to go check on him their were people hunting Vampires so they couldn't stay for long but before they left Carlisle got really close to Johnathan Gilbert and he said that the Salvatore brothers got killed by there father. When they came home Carlisle and Esme wouldn't make eye contact with me and it made me angry. "Carlisle and Esme what did you hear," I said. After a couple seconds of silence they look at me in a sad way.
"Valerie we are truly sorry for your lost," Carlisle and Esme said. As they said that I felt like someone just shot me in my heart.

As the years went by I would forget about Damon and how he died but something would always bring him up and make me think about how my father took me away from him. Things got better after awhile and I forgot about him.
