"You buy the beer." I said to him with a smirk.
"What? Why" he asked and looked at me weirdly. All these questions are making me go crazy...
"Never meet a girl who like alcohol?" I said as I turned around and started to walk again. This time towards the store.
"It's not that, it's just... Why do you need that?" he looked at me while we walked.
"Since I'm gonna be with you, we might as well have some fun." I smirked as I continued to walk and stare right in front of me.
._._._._._._._.
We walked through the outskirts of Sidney after Michael had gone home to get some stuff he needed so he could be gone for a while. We also got the beer.
"So there's a lot of cabins farther away, but they are quite the walk to go to. The good thing about them is that we are safe for some time there, the bad thing is that it's far away from the city..." I reasoned, mostly to myself.
"I say we go to them. We are safe there as you said." He was completely wrong.
I had gone there once before. It was a good place to crash, but owners could come there, it was not worth because of the distance from the city and such.
"No. To come with me, Michael, you have to think like me. Owners could come, long ass walk, both from here and to here again." He looked kinda embarrassed now that he realised he was "wrong".
"Look, there's an old house up here, I went there a lot when I first left home. No one owns it, but police often come there, I don't know why, but they do. All we have to do is sneak in, and do not turn on any lights or anything once we're there, ok?"
He nodded weakly. We started to walk along the path. Not a sound was heard apart from our shoes against the ground. It was kinda awkward, being with him, someone you barely know...
Suddenly I heard a noise, behind us on the little road thingy. I stopped. Michael being in his own little world, walked straight into my back. I hushed him as I turned around to look behind us.
I didn't see anything. Then I saw the flickering of lights behind the trees. Police cars. I grabbed Michael's collar and ran into the forest to our right. We ran until we could barely see the lights back on the road, until we stopped.
I put my index finger up to my mouth to signal that we should be deadly silent. He nodded again.
We slowly crept up towards the house, careful not to step on any branches. We got as close to the house as possible without being visible.
They were stood outside the house, 4 men. 3 of them being clothed in police uniforms, and the last one in a tux. Why were they meeting here? This is just an old ruin. It's been empty for years.
I couldn't get what they were saying since we were so far away from them. It felt like hours they stood here, which could've only been like 15 minutes.
When they left, I got up and walked slowly towards the house. Why were they here? This old thing had been standing here at least the last 50 years, maybe much more...
We got in and dumped our bags on the floor. Like the last time I was here. Dust. Dust everywhere.
We laid on the dusty, half-broken sofas. Beers in hand, already tipsy after one and a half can.
"So, we should get to know each other, since we are street buds now." I said to him.
He looked at me with those beautiful green eyes. "Ok, sooooo... uhhm, I don't know what to ask so you go first." He said to me. I rolled my eyes playfully.
"Ok, what do you do for a living?" I asked him. I kinda wanted to know things about him. I don't know why, but he kinda fascinates me.
"Oh, I play in a band. We are kinda crap." He laughed. I chuckled at him. "What do you do in that band? Background dancer?" I joked.
He laughed, "Yeah, I dress up in pretty dresses and dance around to the music." His laugh was so cute, and contagious. "No, I play lead guitar." He said when he was done laughing.
"I literally don't know what to ask you. And I don't want to ask you about how you ended up in the streets, cause I feel like that's kinda personal." He said honestly.
"Nah, go ahead and ask. Ask me about anything. I'm willing to answer almost everything."
"Ok then. How did you end up in the streets?"
