Alternate Ending {E D I T E D}

Sup, so I decided to do the alternate ending

Which means what would have happened if Lilac decided to stick with Jason.

L I L A C

I grasp Jason's hand before the vine snaps, and I pull him up, relieved. I look behind me and see Mitch start swinging his sword at Jason, and before I could stop myself, I stabbed Mitch before he could kill Jason. I look at Mitch in a terrified way, breathing raggedly as Mitch looks up at me with a shocked look on his face, "Lilac, h-how could you?"

I stop trembling, and say, "I'm sorry Mitch, but I never loved you."

And so killed him, just like that. I turn around and face Jason, smiling. Then, I felt a sharp pain on my neck. I let out a gurgle and i feel heavy, my hand touching my neck, feeling a gushy flow of something thick. I look down at my fingers and my eyes widen. It was blood, my blood. My eyes roll back and I fall to the ground. I look up and see Jason holding a small bloody knife, with a wide, sly grin on his face, "I'm sorry babe, but there can only be one winner." And everything went black.

"Congratulations to this year's hunger games winner, Jason Parks!" The crowd roared as they heard my name, and I had a smile plastered on my face. I would be back home, with my family, my crush, but, that one question I keep asking myself. How will they look at me? A monster, a traitor, a cheater? I frown as I thought these things. But, didn't they also want me back home?

"Of course they want me back home." I mutter to myself.

As I went back home, I kept thinking of the questions, and tried to look for reasonable answers. I wanted to forget about the fact that my family won't look at me the same way, so I ordered an Avox to give me drinks. She looks at me as if I were crazy, but I demand it once again, this time more sternly. She didn't hesitate to bring me it this time, and all I did that train ride was beg for more, until it ran out.

I came back with a major headache, and my father greeting me, while my mother just looked at me, no emotion in her face. Everyone in my district would glare at me when I passed through the town. And my crush, she wouldn't talk to me like she always would. I asked her out, she objected, and what pissed me off, was the matter of fact that she didn't hesitate at ALL. It made me angry, frustrated, and so I stay at home doing nothing but drink all day and night non-stop.

"Who cares." I say one night to myself. "I don't need anybody, I never needed anybody." I kept muttering this until I was fully satisfied that what I said was true. But one thing that irks me, one specific thing, is the matter of fact, that I won the Hunger Games, why? Why did I have to win? Why couldn't I just fall off as the vine snapped, why did Lilac have to save me? One deep question though...

Why did I kill Lilac?
