the unlikely pack

I ened the door to the cool night air, it was about midnight. I walked out of the small log cabin I had spent the day in, the wind was blowing gently and the moon begged to escape from behind the dark clouds "I'm hungry." I said softly, my voice echoed threw the silent darkness, i took a deep breath and what I smelt sent the hair on the back of my neck straight up, "werewolf..." I thought to myself, I had been chased by werewolves before but this didn't make since, they attack in a pack and surround their prey, "why is their only one of them?" I wondered, I took a second breath, the wolf was somewhere in the tree line just to my right, "something isn't right.." I kept walking slowly as if I hadn't noticed I was being watched, "why isn't it attacking?!" I wondered but kept walking, after a few moments I was walking threw the forest, the wolf was following behind me. "this wolf is fucking stupid!" I finally decided "it can smell that I'm a vampire I'm sure!" id had enough I turned around  and yelled "wolf show yourself!" I waited for it to come charging but nothing came, the moon finally freed itself from behind the clouds, moonlight shined threw the trees and on me, showing my figure in the light. "if you won't come out then I'll come to you!" I yelled now angry. 

"Oh shit!" I thought aloud as the vampire came walking in my direction "shit this isn't right did she see me? How did she know I was here? Vampires have a weak since of smell... Or so i thought, and what the hell does wolf mean?" I quickly stood and hid behind a tree, I drew my blade, it was made of pure silver. "calm down you can do this." I told myself "you made a promise, and you have to fulfill it no matter what! You won't die here!" I took my stance with my new found courage and jumped from behind the tree, I froze and looked around puzzled, she was gone.ttnbbm I turned in a circle and searched threw the moonlit trees. "shit this is the second one that has got away this week! Dammit! Captain Kenneth is gonna be pissed!" I turned sharply and hit the tree face first, "fuck!" I yelled as I held my nose "just great!" I yelled as I stormed back in the direction of town. "god it's creepy in these woods." I thought as I walked, it was an eire forest it always had been, even when I was a little girl the forest always scared me, my parents and I lived in a cabin right on the outside of the forest on the east side, one day I was playing in the creek just in the forest when two yellow eyes shined from a cave in the rocks, I let my curiosity get the best if me and I walked closer and closer to them, those eyes were hypnotizing like I'd seen them before, I stopped near the mouth of the cave. Suddenly a huge where wolf sprung at me knocking me to the ground. One of it's paws was all it took to pin my small body to the ground, it looked at me for a moment and then ran away. I ran all the way back home and told my mom what happened, after that I was told to stay far away from the forest, and I did until a 2 years ago, I heard a child scream from the forest and rushed to help. When I reached the area where the scream came from there was no one nothing at all, so I headed slowly back home. I opened the door and that's when my world fell apart, my mother lay on the floor her own hunter sword in her heart,  I screamed and ran to her, then I saw my fathers head laying in the floor beside his body. After that everything went black ad when I woke up I was sitting in a wooden chair surrounded by strangers, I only recognized one, asher the boy that had been my best friend when we were little. "Asher?" I wondered aloud, "everyone she is awake!" someone yelled and they rushed over to me, they all started talking at once an I covered my ears, "quiet!" a tall dark haired man commanded, "back away." he said as he came over to me and squatted down next to me. "it's alright Luna, I'm captain Kenneth, I was your parents boss, I know you must be really confused and scared but I need you to tell me what happened." he spoke softly "w..we were eating breakfast when I heard a child scream, t..they didn't hear it so I rushed out to go check it out, there was no one so I went back and....." I couldn't hold in the tears try poured, "I'm so so sorry Luna." added Asher as he walked over and hugged me, I hadn't seen him in over  7 years but it was nice to have a familiar face, I hugged him tightly and cried in his shoulder. I blushed a little at the memory, "what the heck is wrong with me he is just a asshole anyway!" I tied to myself and rolled my eyes, after I recovered I started training as a hunter, I swore my revenge, and made a promise at the gaves of my parents, "I will kill every last vampire I see until I find the ones that killed my parents! And then I'll make them feel the pain they caused me!" i clenched my fist, "I've got to be more serious if I really hope to accomplish my goal I need to be stronger!" a light shined threw the trees ahead "finally!" I yelled as I made my way into the clearing, right in the middle of the field was our camp, over 30 tents dotted the area and in the center was a big tent I could see people scurrying around most in uniform. "welcome back!" boomed Asher as I walked up I just rolled my eyes and tried to hide my red puffy nose, and failed "what did you get attacked by a tree?" he laughed as we made our way into the main tent. I stopped as soon as I entered. Captain Kenneth looked up from the papers on his desk, "you may enter," he smiled, I took a few more steps in, "whats your repot Luna?" he asked folding his arms in front of him, "I was scouting when I found a vampire, I starting following it when it suddenly charged, I hid and prepared at attack when I did it was gone." I said calmly, he sighed and gave me the "I'm disappointed" look, "he would make a great dad." I thought sarcastically "this is the second time you have failed luna, it is important that we defend the people in this town." he started "I understand, I will do better, I have to!" I added with a salute "you better I expect more from you, your dismissed" he said with a salute. I turned and quickly left the tent, running into Asher who was ease dropping the whole time. I kept walking toward my tent, "that doesn't explain your nose," he teased from a distance, "I hit a tree!" I yelled hoping that would satisfy him. He caught up with me and grabbed my arm, "what's wrong luna? You know I'm only teasing right?" he said now sounding concerned, "I can't do anything like this, I can't do anything right I've got to start trying harder," I whispered to myself as I pulled away and headed to my tent, "goodnight!" he said just before I shut the tent flap behind me, "I'm so tired!" I admitted as I flopped down on my bed with a sigh, soon I was fighting sleep and slowly it won.
