Ana's POV
The summer breeze hit me and I felt new. This was it. I glanced down at my ticket reading ..

JFK departure to Michigan international airport arrival at 3:19 am

I waved back to my folks. I saw the tears filling up my mothers eyes but we already had this conversation and that is why I didn't bother going to her, to tell her that everything will
be okay.

I took in a deep breath in and walked slowly towards my gate.

The next day : 3:34 am

Me and my suitcase finally made it here and what seemed like forever was only a 2 hour flight.

I made my way through the chaos of looking for my suitcase and headed out the door as fast I could before a herd of people come passing by.

I made it outside and it was filled with people talking on their phones, intense screaming of fathers and mothers seeing their love ones for the first time, the beeping of cars trying to make their way through traffic, and all together it was filled with all types of emotions.

I had no one. There was no one waiting for me. I stuck out my hand hoping a taxi driver would see it and someone did.

A Hispanic looking man who I would guess to be in his late 40s spoke with an accent " miss were do you need to go"

" I - I - I need to to go to the city of Lansing to- to prospect street please" I told him nervously

He smiled " yes yes miss I can take you, put the bag in back ok" he said cheerfully as of I was his first passenger all night

I did as he told and sat in the back. I took out my phone to check the time and instead was distracted by the million of phone calls from my mom. I didn't bother tough because she needed to learn to give me space. Every since my brother passed she became this crazed protective mother. I get it, her son died and she doesn't trust anyone or anything. She's in fear because her 19 year old daughter is moving to start college in the fall.

I brushed off the thought. The whole ride to my new apartment was silent and me looking though the window.

I got there and I noticed it was a nice looking neighborhood. I got my suitcase from the trunk and asked how much the ride was.

The driver extended his hand out the window and said "32 dollars please"

Damn.
I gave him exactly 32 dollars.

I looked up at the yellow painted building about 8 stories high. I proceed to enter trough the tall glass doors.

There was what seems to be the front desk and decent looking man behind it.

He greeted with a smile, potently saying "You must be miss Fields, I'm what most people call me the host of the Croft residence. I will show you to your apartment and make sure that you meet Mrs. Bleua sometime tomorrow to discuss rules and regulations. I understand that you are attending Western Michigan university and trust me there is a lot of students that live here too. Miss fields I hope you enjoy your new home, here are your keys"

Handing me a set of keys, I was still sick by everything he just said. Landing him a smile, I took the keys and followed him to the 4 set of elevators.

I was now standing at the front of my apartment door marked 49 and by the way I was on the fourth floor.
I turned around to the man saying " I sorry I didn't tell you my name, it's Angelica but call me Ana" I smiled and extending my hand

He took it with a strong grip and nervously proceed to say "I'm very sorry I didn't introduce my name to you Ana, my name is Marc" he smiled

I smiled back and he left. I was all alone. I turned to my door and opened it. It smelled like fresh paint. After looking for the switch, I turned on the lights reveling a big living room. The kitchen was on the right to me and it was also very big. I walked through the wooden glossed floor to a hall way were there was 3 doors. On the right was the bathroom which was glorious. The left was the laundry room and in front of me was my big room fit for a queen.

There was thankfully my furniture already there, that I had to pay a moving company to do so.

I put my things down and noticed there was glass doors in my room that led to an outside patio. I opened it and the scenery was just plain trees beyond trees. I looked out to the darkness. Then I saw dark red eyes glancing at me in the distance. I blinked one more time and then they were gone. I thought it was just my mind playing tricks on me. I looked down at my phone noticing it was 3:59 am. I must be really tired to think I actually saw red eyes in the forest. I closed the doors and locked them.

I made my way to my bed. Plopping myself on I just stared at the white ceiling telling myself this is my new beginning
