Chapter 1: Friday Night

She watched the television anxiously. Her eyes never abandoning the static screen.

"Allison, what are you doing? It's midnight." Joseph, her husband placed his rough hand on her shoulder. She winced slightly sparing her husband a glance before returning her eyes back to the void television screen.

It was in fact midnight on a Friday and the couple took place in their living room. The moon light barely let in a shred of light due to the amount of trees which were scattered around their house. They lived in the small town, Washburn Pines, almost unknown to the state of Georgia. It was mostly known for mysterious sightings in the woods and unsolved murders. And on that particular night, was Halloween.

Joseph furrowed his eyebrows and released his hand from its place. He felt a rush of pain in his throat suddenly and stumbled around the room. His hands wrapped around his pale face leading down to his neck as sweat droplets fell. He was choking and she sat there motionless.

Joseph only had a few minutes before he was pronounced dead. With quick thinking he reached for his phone resting upon his nightstand. His fingers were hesitant as he dialed- one number.

It was over and he knew it.

Before he could finish dialing the emergency number he collapsed onto the wooden floor. The loud thump left the house echoing. And in one last glimpse he saw a large woman.

The odd thing was, it wasn't his wife.

-10 years later-

"Alright man. What are we gonna do? Jake won't answer the damn phone!" Sam shouted, his hands in his thick brown hair.

Stephan couldn't hold out any longer, he was bleeding out on a cold rock, and his only best friend is the one panicking. To make matters worst, they're in the middle of the woods with a homicidal creature which attacked Stephan the other night at the infamous high school bonfire.

"Just. Call. His. Mom," Stephan whispered in fear he might lose it by how many times he has suggested it to his friend. Sam gaped at his words, leaving his mouth open.

"Call Jake's mom? Jake's mom, as in the town's sheriff? The Sheriff," he scoffed in annoyance. Stephan rolled his eyes.

"Stephan. A furry faced monster attacked you and almost ate you! I mean it left quite the mark of teeth just above your ab-less stomach, not to mention you were drinking- a lot!" he flailed his arms around in the air gesturing to his wound, "Does that seem like a winning case?"

Stephan held his head low, distracted. His eyes focused on the rotten leaf below his burgundy vans. Without realizing it, his vision began to blur and his eyes grew tired. Sam's fingers snapped together rapidly causing Stephan to jump up in alertness.

"Wait. Sam, do you hear that?" Stephan asked Sam hopefully. Stephan heard the roar of a car. If there's a car there's a person. Sam took in the whole view of the woods as he searched for something. Anything.

But he hadn't heard a thing. Sam shook his head hesitantly, afraid he might seem as if he doesn't believe Stephan. Stephan was resilient though, and knew he heard it. He clutched on his wound in pain as he stood, loosing balance instantly.

He fell too fast for Sam to catch and met face to face with the ground. "Woah, woah, woah. I got you." Sam shuffled through the leaves to help Stephan up. Stephan stood up with the very little strength of his friend. In fact his puny friend began panting from such the labor he endured.

"You boys need help?" A feminine voice shot through the frigid morning air. Both heads shot up to find an elder woman standing a few feet from them partially visible behind an oak tree. She smiled showing no signs of a murderer.

But Sam felt something odd about her. Questions rammed his head with accusations and judgment. It was his thing, to judge and give the yes's and the no's. But his thoughts were quickly pushed aside at the voice of Stephan's, "Yes".

"So what's your name?" Stephan asked while he held onto his cut flesh.

"Allison. The name is Allison Reeves."
