When Master Fu and Wayzz come to the conclusion that the Akumas are getting stronger, along with Hawkmoth getting dangerous with his plans, Wayzz suggests it's time for a new hero to make an appearance, to help Ladybug and Chat Noir.

The Fox kwami, Nikk, was one to be reckoned with. While he may not have the luck of the ladybug or the destruction of the black cat, he had to ability to make illusions, and depending on the situation, could make those illusions become solid and never disappear, although that was rarely necessary.
The Fox kwami was known as the creative one, out of all the kwamis, as well as the fastest, perhaps rivaling the superhero, Flash. He's cunning, wise and perhaps a jokester at times, but cares deeply about the one who wields him.
All his wielders had the mind of an artist, since Nikk himself loved to create illusions that would make people smile.
Before the present, he was companions with 9 separate people, all of which, except one, passed peacefully due to their old age and choice to stop being the Fox wielder.
His 9th wielder, however, didn't get a peaceful death, but rather suffered till he passed away. During the medieval times, during the Black Plague, in which many people suffered from multiple symptoms.
...It was a difficult time for the aged Kwami to see his young wielder, pass away in pain and agony.
And due to the Black Plague, his relationship with one of the Kwamis became strained.

Nikk, who once considered Plagg a close friend, absolutely loathed him, for taking his wielders life with the plague he started.
As for Plagg, he couldn't care less at the time, but at present time, he wished for Nikk to forgive him.
Nikk wasn't wielded since his ninth wielder, but that would change as Master Fu will present him to his tenth wielder, one who desperately wants to forget that he was akumatized.
