Crash! I looked around my surroundings for the source of the loud noise. Everything seemed right, the tv was on it's stand, all pictures were still hanging on the wall, books all in order, and the kitchen was neat as ever. I walked to my bedroom to see that all of my things were exactly as they were when I went out to the living room.
I lived in my own apartment, with no roommate, so what could have caused that crash! I stepped inside my room and walked towards my desk. I opened all the drawers, only to see that everything was in order.
It must have been my imagination.
I turned around to head back to the living room. Bang! I spun around and there I was a shadow, looming over myself. Trembling with fear, I managed out, "W-who ar-are you?"
No response. The figure just took a step forward, while I took a step back.
"S-stop right th-there. D-d-don't come a-any closer."
But the thing in front of me just took another step forward. I took another step back and looked around for any weapon I could use.... Nothing. Becoming more scared every second, I turned around and ran for the door. I was almost there, but the shadow caught the back of my shirt and pulled me back.
I attempted to let out a scream, but all that let out was a mere whimper. The monster turned me around and grabbed my neck. It pushed me against the wall and tightened it's grip. I clawed at the beast's hand, but the thing showed no sign of pain or any sign of letting me go.
Slowly I started losing my breath and my consciousness. I struggled out, "P-ple-p-please," but this time, the shadow replied.
"Never," and then I blacked out.
I woke up suddenly, my eyes wide open. There was sweat on my forehead and I found it extremely hot, even though I didn't have a blanket on. I sat up and I felt my back grow painful.
Damn, I hate nightmares. I have this weird thing where if I get a bad dream, I have a bad morning. Uh, this sucks. I arched my back and heard it crack, which made my pain go away temporarily, but then it came back a few seconds afterwards. What a great way to start the day. I sighed and stood up and walked to the bathroom to start my morning routine.

The school bell rang and the class emptied. I packed up my pens, books, et cetera, and walked toward the door. While bidding the teacher goodbye, I exited the classroom.
Still depressed about this morning, I ambled over to the library to return some books. On the way there, I bumped into Travis and we walked to the library together. Once we got there, I stopped at a close table so I could pull out the books.
I took out all my books and put them on the table so I could zip up my bag.
"Scarlet?" I heard Travis say. I turned to him and saw him reading one of the books' covers.
"It's part of The Lunar Chronicles. I borrowed the whole series. They are amazing books. One of my favorites. Scarlet is the second book. There are four, well six, books in all. The first is Cinder, the third is Cress, and the fourth is Winter. The fifth book isn't really a continuation. The story kind of stops at the fourth book, but Stars Above, the fifth one, is small stories set in The Lunar Chronicles' setting. Then there is also Fairest, but I won't get started on that one. It has cyborgs, androids, moon people, spaceships, mutilated soldiers, and all sorts of cool stuff! And the main characters are trying to start a rebellion against the terrible Lunar queen. It makes me wish that our world could be as interesting as that one. Seriously I love that..... I'm blabbering, aren't I?"
"Uh, kind of, but it was cute," I blushed at the comment, but Travis didn't seem to notice for he was still looking at the book. "Any way, the idea I'm getting from what you said, is that it's basically Star Wars," Travis finished.
"Yeah, um, I guess you could say that," I said while taking the book from him and picking up the other books. I took them to the book drop off and went back to the table where my things were.
"So, Princess," I rolled my eyes at the nickname. "I was thinking we could do another bucket list item?"
"Um, I gotta ask my aunt, but she'll probably say yes. Hang on."
I called her up and just like I thought, she said it was okay. I told Travis and we both walked to his car.

"So, what's the next one? I mean, we still have a little more time," Travis asked. The one before was to take your pet on an adventure and since I didn't have any pets, we took Travis' dog, Milo, who is adorable I might add.
"Uh, let's see," I took out the list and scanned for number four. "It's make a wish on a dandelion. Not that hard."
"True statement, princess. But what is with Disney and making wishes. Seriously, first a star, and now a weed," Travis said.
"Okay, first of all, wishes are extremely important. Dreaming, hoping, and wishing, are vital. Without them, we wouldn't know what we want, what we truly desire. They help us see something amazing, something that we might want to see more than what is already in front of our eyes. For my whole life, I've been doing all three of those things. I think without them, I'd probably would've given up on life. And second, dandelions are beautiful weeds."
I showed him a picture of a dandelion.
"Well, I guess you proved your point, I shall never say something idiotic like that ever again."
Even though I know he was just being sarcastic, I put on a proud face and said, "Thank you."
Travis rolled his eyes and I let out a huge smile. Which he returned with his own boyish grin.
"C'mon let's go find some weeds."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We sat in a enormous field that was filled with dandelions. How he finds these places, the world may never know.
After some rolling around in the grass(come on, you can't go in a field with long grass and dandelions and not roll) both Travis and I picked out a dandelion and blew on the petals.
"I don't suppose I can know what you're wish is?" Travis asked. I shook my head.
He heaved a dramatic sigh and then said, "But if it does come true, will you tell me then?"
"Of course," I smiled which he returned. "And you, when you're wish comes true, will you tell me?"
"Nothing could stop me."
"You know what these dandelions remind me of?" I questioned Travis.
"What do these dandelions remind you of?"
"The moon, and you know the yellow ones, they remind me of the sun. And the seeds are the stars. I'm not the only one who thinks this. I read somewhere that dandelions represent celestial bodies. So right now, I feel like I'm right in the middle of the galaxy. Don't you agree?"
Travis looked at me.
"Absolutely."
Author's Note:
Hey dudes and or dudettes. I'm just going to say this quick cuz you're probably sick of me saying sorry and blah blah blah. I'm sorry for not updating. Not writing is killing me. The feeling sucks, but can't help it. Anywho, in my perspective, I kind of like this chapter the best. I don't know why, but I just do. Better than some of my other chapters. And by the way, the dandelions they were talking about were the white ones and The Lunar Chronicles, if you hadn't read it, READ ITTTT!!! Also, I was watching the Fandom Awards and when they were showing the ship of the year or something, I saw Malec as a nominee and oh my lordie, I almost died. No joke. I was psyched. I was literally jumping for joy and in the middle of my jumping I scratched myself.... On my couch......It hurt.....A lot.......And Malec didn't win......Fml. Well, that's it, peace and war!
