As I walked down the campus sidewalk, the crisp cool autumn breeze blows and I pull my light blue jacket over my shoulders. My classes are over and I have other things I need to worry about for next week. But not only college things but also I have a job interview at Matthew and Martin Enterprises. While I wasn't paying attention, I run into Luke Martin. The fraternity leader, and your average college bad boy. "Hey. Watch it next time," he mutters in a low voice. "Sorry," I squeak and scurry away from him. As I walk back to my dorm room I notice, something seems off with the atmosphere. I walk in and as soon as I do, my roommate jumps on me. "Alex guess what."
"What Laney?"
"Luke Martin likes a girl in our Sorority."
"Why am I involved with this?"
"Our sorority. You're in the sorority."
"Look Laney, I've got a job interview tomorrow. I really have to go."
"Go where?"
"To find something nice to wear. Nothing I have will impress anyone but my strict catholic family. Everything goes down to my knees."
"All right. All right. I'll go with you if you'd like."
"Please."
"Let me get my keys," and a few minutes later she's got them and we're off of the campus.
About 15 minutes later, we're outside of Cato fashions, and we're looking in the racks.
"Alex look I found something."
"What did you find," I walk over and I see what she has in hand. (Should be up top)
"Go try it on," she pushes me into a changing room. I put the clothes on and look into the mirror.
"Well how do they look?""I look professional."
"Let me see," I walk out of the changing room and her mouth drops. "Alex I think we've found the one."
"Are you sure?"
"Absolutely. Let's go," I go back into the changing room and lock the door, take off the clothes, put my clothes back on, and take the clothes I was wearing to the checkout counter.
"Is that all for today?"
"Yes."
"Your total is $44.90," Laney hands him her card and he hands the card and bag to us.
"Have a beautiful day."
"Thanks you too," we both say as we walk out of the store.
As soon as we get back on campus, our Sorority girls are wondering where we went.
"Tell us what's in the bag."
"Fine. It's clothes for my interview Monday."
"Ooh. You got an interview. Where?"
"Matthews and Martins Enterprises."
"Oh my gosh. You're gonna get paid so much for that. What are you working as?"
"Hopefully a personal assistant."
"Maybe this'll turn out to be 50 Shades of Grey"
"Haha. No. I'm not doing a magazine interview anyway."
"Whatever you say."
"Frat party tonight. Who's in," all of the girls raise their hand. Reluctantly I do too.
"Really Alex."
"I'll go."
"Yay," they all yell at the same time.
Well I'm definitely not going to make it through tonight.
Then we suddenly hear a knock on the door.
"Just a second," Maria calls out. We walk over to the door. Slowly we open it and to our shock we see Luke Martin.
"I need to speak with Alexis James."
"Oooh," they all chant until I walk out from the corner.
"You needed to speak to me?"
"Yeah it's about your job interview with my dad's company."
"Oh," I step out into the hall and shut the door behind me.
"Please whatever you do, don't screw this interview up. My dad has a lot on his plate right now and he could use the help."
"I'll try my hardest to not screw this up."
"Thank you," Luke's left eye drops into a wink and he walks away.
