"Fear is a liar Brianna."
With that final breathe of encouragement I take the final step of defiance. A scream claws its way up my throat, but I bite my lip to avoid the verbal cry of fear. The ground is rushing up to meet me when the thought that had been playing at the edge of my mind finally decides to snap into place. I wasn't afraid. The all to familiar grip of fear was absent of my heart and mind. All thanks to Charlie. Suddenly splashes of white hot pain interrupt my thoughts as my body connects with the unmoving ground. Varying intensities confuse my senses for a moment before realization sinks in. I was dieing now. As my bones crack and my blood pools around my half crushed skull a final thought dances along the insides of my darkening eyelids. Charlies warm smile and his gentle words walk me calmly into another world entirely. My life thread snaps just as his smile fades. Now I was dead. Lovely.
A final shaky breathe signs her name in my Death Plague. Ensuring her life link to me. Her eyes don't close and her lips don't part in a final attempt at avoiding fear in her pathetic life. A meaningless offer to me for her courage is not my interest at all. Her acceptance of death on the other hand held my every thought at the moment. Something about their acceptance made the taste so much sweeter. The slightest of emotions can alter the flavors that would play along his tounge. Each link signed holds it's own unique taste. One by One they accept what I have convinced them is their "fate" and in every understanding a new flavor is developed in each of their souls. A gentle thud tickles my ears, bringing me back into the present moment. Ah yes, victory is mine yet again. I chucke silently at my own corny joke. Of course I had won. I always do in the end. A glance over the edge of the two storey building and the cries of the frightened by passers confirm the childs death. Only thirteen yet so determined to out do her friends at any and every cost. A smile slides its self along my lips before I step casually off the building as well. Landing softly beside her I glance at her almost peaceful face, ignoring the broken and twisted features, the pooled blood, and even the horrified guacking of the by passers, I pause momentarily to simply enjoy a job well done. Unfortunatly time was running out on her link, so moving quickly I bent down and gentley pressed my lips to hers as to avoid disturbing her death walk. As I part my lips I feel the familair tickle of life across my tounge followed by a brief hint of carmel followed closely by the even sweeter taste of home grown honey. And just like that everything this girl had ever thought, felt, wanted, needed, became mine. Anything to do with any aspect of her former life completley obliterated with her death except for the memories now linked within my body with her newly added life link.
