Guarding

~Chapter 1~

I gasped for air, my heart pounding, my head spinning, people everywhere yelling at me, finally there was a thud as I hit the hard, solid ground and everything went black...

Hope's P.O.V~

I rushed down the steep, snowy hill as the cold, harsh wind whistled in my ears and pulled my long, dirty blonde hair out if my face until I finally came to a stop. "How fast was that?"

"4 minutes and 17 seconds."

"That's my best time yet." I smiled to myself as I bent down to unlatch my feet from my snowboard, before passing it to Willow. "Do you want a go? See if you can beat my record?"

"You know I will so I'm not gonna bother!" She stuck her tongue out at me as she said it and I couldn't help but laugh. "So do you want a go or not?" I asked. "I might as well but if I beat your time, you have to buy the hot chocolate when we get back." I couldn't help but laugh.

I stood there waiting stopwatch in hand waiting, as Willow climbed to the top of the snowboarding course."READY?" I yelled. "READY!"

"OK. ON YOUR MARK... GET SET... GO!" I clicked the button on the top of the stopwatch, starting Willow's time

Willow's P.O.V~

"OK. ON YOUR MARK... GET SET... GO!" I heard Hope yelling from the bottom if the hill. I leaned forward, jumping at the same time as I felt myself slowly moving forward, again I jumped picking up more speed, I really wanted that hot chocolate. I felt myself start to slide more easily so I straightened my back and bent my knees so I was more comfortable. I looked ahead and saw the first corner. I started to go left so that I could 'hug' the corner. I had learnt before that if you didn't it could result in a hospital visit and a broken wrist. What scared me even more was that this was only my second time I had been on this course, and my first go when I had been by myself, Hope had convinced me, she always said it was an 'adventure' but now I wasn't so sure. I looked up, relieved, that I had made it past most of the corners and I was only 10, maybe 20 metres away from the end and where Hope was standing. I gave her a quick wave, she look worried and cupping her hands to her mouth. "WILLOW! LOOK OUT!" I snapped my gaze down to look at my feet only so see I was heading towards a small flash of black sandy, grainy gust of wind. startled it threw me off course and I slid head first into a compact snow wall. I stood up slowly and shakily still dazed from my fall. I saw Hope running up the hill and I gave I small sigh of relief as she jumped the barrier to get to me. I smiled weakly but as I did my knees buckled and I collapsed. Everything went black...

Hope's P.O.V

I looked down at the stopwatch. 3 minutes and 2 seconds, Willow was really doing really well. I looked up to see where she was, Willow looked up at the same time and gave me a small have. All of a sudden something black and familiar crossed Willow's path. I quickly cupped my hands to my mouth hoping that she would hear me in time. "WILLOW! LOOK OUT!" She looked down quickly as she hit the black creature. I stood there helpless as she started to fall and as she did I started to run, my heart pounding in my ears. I saw someone standing up and I hoped with all my heart that it was Willow. Just as I jumped the barrier I saw Willow holding a hand to her head she looked up and gave me a weak smile I rushed over to her to give her a hug, but before I could she collapsed. Willow, she had to be OK, she just had to.

Hi guys. All I wanted to say was that this is the first time time writing a story I was actually proud of and I hope you like it. All of the characters in this book other than the ones that appeared in the movie are based on someone I know but without the real names so a big shout out to them. anyway I hope you like my Rise of the Guardians fanfic and I will try to update as soon as possible.
