Chapter 16

"Morning." Harry's raspy voice is full of sleep.

"Hi." I smile when he kisses my cheek in a simple yet meaningful gesture.

"You need to go.." I break our heated eye contact when I remember my parents are still here.

"Not until you agree to spend the day with me." He responds and my heart flutters.

"Harry, I told you, last night... It can't happen again, not until I can trust you again." I tell him honestly.

"We're just going to hang out, I won't pull anything... Well 'llI try not to." He smiles and I giggle, even though I'm supposed to be standing my ground.

"No, now you need to go." I reiterate and pull out of his right grip around my waist to get up.

He groans as he drags his ass out of my bed to put his clothes back on, making me laugh.

"Wait up here so I can distract my parents in the kitchen." I tell him and he nods before sitting back down on my bed.

"Morning, mom." I say when I get to the kitchen and pour myself a bowl of cereal.

"Hey, Addie." She replies. "Did you want to go to the shopping mall today? I thought it would be cool to check it out."

"Yeah sure. Where's dad?" I ask.

"I think he went to the hardware store." She says and continues to read the newspaper.

"I'll get it." I put down my coffee and walk to the door when someone knocks.

"Harry! I told you to stay in my room!" I whisper in a harsh tone so my mom can't hear.

"I was bored so I climbed out the window. Let's go." He smiles.

"Harry! It's nice to see you!" My mom comes from the kitchen to greet him.

"Hello Mrs. Walker." He says politely. "I just came over to see if Addie wanted to hang out today." He smiles.

"Sorry, my and mom are going shopping." I say, proud of the excuse.

"Oh, we can go another day Addie! You two have fun!" She smiles and goes back to the kitchen, leaving Harry chuckling and me rolling my eyes.

"Are you ready?" He asks.

"No, I need to shower and change. I'll come over when I'm done." I tell him and turn around.

"I can wait." He says and follows me up the stairs. I had hoped he would leave so I could avoid spending the day with him.

"Alright let's go." I inform Harry as I come back into my room from the bathroom.

"Okay." He stands up and I follow him outside.

"Hold on." He says when I grab the for handle to his car.

"Why?"

"I need to shower too, it'll just take five minutes." He tells me and grabs my hand to lead him into his house.

As he takes a shower, I patiently wait on his bed. I really never looked at it when we were in here only a few nights ago, but it's actually very nice. Everything is tidy and well kept, the bed is made. I'm surprised to find a few pictures on his side table next to his alarm clock, but other than that; there's nothing really showing Harry's life or personality.

I know how he acts around people and when he's just with me, but I would like to know who he really is. I get the sense that he's not one to display his emotions very often, so it's very hard to really see who he is. I want to break through his hard façade, and get to know him better.
