Mates

When we exit the room the first thing I notice is the smell of a rogue. I look up and see Kate standing protectively in front of where the smell is coming from. I shift and lunge towards the rouge. After the rouges killed my dad I have never met one that I didn't kill on sight. Instead of running Kate turns to the rouge and wraps her arms around him. He moves her so she is behind him and stands protectively in front of her.
"Kate is my mate." He says to me. I stop growling at him and Alex stands behind me. I try to calm myself down so I run my face into Alex's side. He runs his hands threw my hair and I shift. I stand in front of the rouge and he bows his head on submission.
"What is your name?" I ask him.
"Leo." He says. Alex takes his shirt off and pulls it over my head. I thank him and walk to my office.
"Follow me Leo. And the rest of you get back to your work."
When me, Alex, Kate and Leo get to my office he lets go of Kate's hand and stands in front of me.
"Sit." He sits in the chair and I sit behind my desk across from him.
"How did you become rouge?" Alex asks leaning against the wall. I glare at him but nod my head for Leo to answer.
"I was the gamma of the Ladrillo Pack. My sister was the Luna but when her mate and my alpha began to miss treat her I challenged him and lost. My sister said the only way that she wouldn't reject him was if he let me live, so he kicked me out the pack. I was heading north to my cousins pack where he is waiting for me but when I cut threw the land I caught sent of Kate in a shop of some kind and followed her here. She knew I was following her and she knew who I was so I just didn't think anything of it. I'm sorry alpha I should have know better when it comes to other Alphas territory."
"So what do the two of you plan to do now?" I ask looking towards them.
"Well if you don't want me in your pack I can still go to my cousins pack but it would mean Kate has to chose to leave her family." He says looking at her. She looks for and I shake my head.
"No Kate's whole family lives here. As her alpha I refuse for her to leave the pack." She looks at me angrily. "...but that doesn't mean you can't join our pack." I say to him. Her jaw drops and Leo rushes over to hug her.
"You both can go. Kate show him around and get him settled in. And for the love of Goddess Leo go take a shower." I say. He laughs and bows his head.
"Thank you alpha." I rest my head on the table before looking up at my desk. I have letters from alphas and my to do list for the pack. I pout at all the work. I don't want to do it but I know I have to, massaging my temples I pick up the phone to make an announcement before looking at Alex. He is standing there smiling. I roll my eyes and gesture to the chairs.
"Epsilons, Zion, and Rycher please report to my office."
"Epsilons? I've never heard of that rank. Or that six people can share it."
"It's an old rank and it symbolizes the 6 strongest warriors in the pack. The way I have it set up. Instead of talking to the warrior clan as a whole I tell them and they tell the rest what I want done. I have about 75 warriors there is no way I would be able to have one on one time with all 75. But this way I can meet up with the Epsilons every week and get personal and proper progress reports. I just put them in power so this is going to be one of the first official meetings." He nods his head.
"Alex can you-"
"Don't worry alpha you won't have to worry about me talking out of order. You were right when you said that this is your pack and you need to know that I'm not trying to take that away from you. Don't forget that I came to you for help with my pack." He says winking at me. I nod my head and head over to my large table with maps.
"Come see this. These are all the known rouge sighting near my pack. After Caleb and Gavin talked to me I starting looking at your pack borders and marking your sightings as well."
"This is incredible. I should have thought to do this." He says shaking his head. I walk by and squeeze his hand before pulling him over to my large shelf of books.
"Don't feel bad I only know this because my dad wrote about it in his journals." I say pointing to the leather bond books.
"You've read all his journals?" He asks looking at me.
"I was announced alpha when I was only8 years old. I couldn't watch tv or go out like regular kids so I spent my time here trying to be the best alpha and learning from his mistakes and taking from his victories." I say. He turns to say something to me and Zion and Rycher walk in.
"I'm sorry are we interrupting?" Zion says looking at us. I look at Alex and notice how close we are standing. I cough and take a step back.
"No come we have a lot to discuss."
"You mind if I call my beta and gamma in?"
"How fast can they get here?"
"Five minutes." I nod my head and he steps out to make a call.
"So why isn't Kate here instead of me?" Rycher asks.
"Because your my assistant." I say smiling at him. He gets a big grin on his face and Zion gives me a thumbs up under the table.
The Epsilons are all standing around the table and I see them adding and moving arounds sighting tacks.
"What's going on?" I ask when I see them moving the tacks around.
"We want to use a different color for the actually sightings and the areas where we find things that point to them or just smells of them." Caleb says. Alex and his beta and gamma walk in but stay quiet.
"Yeah like me and Devon fought these rouges" Tristan says pointing to the red dots in one area of the map.
"But me Levi have only found things that that belong to them or had small encounters with them here." Caleb says. He points to the green dots.
"And these yellow dots show all the places that the kids have gone missing or taken from in the woods." Justin says. Because him and Abel are my number one trackers they they are the ones we send to find kids or pack members that go missing.
"And we also are putting a sticky note with the dates so we can keep track of when certain events happened."
"It's crazy you said that." Alex says running toward where the map of his territory is.
"Smart you made me this alpha." He says slapping my ass as he puts the map down on the table. My jaw drops and I can't believe he just did that.
"Tell us what you noticed." I say pinching him.
"The dates on the missing kids match up perfectly. I don't think they are taking the kids to take them, I think they are using the kids for something. Look Amelia the dates all match up exactly. And I'm betting other alphas have had kids taken on these same days."
"Your brilliant." I say leaning up and kissing him. We are finally getting somewhere and if those kids are still alive we have a shot at finding them and bringing them home.
"Rycher I want the numbers to all the alphas who are having trouble with the rouges on my desk tmm by 10am sharp." He nods his head and rushes out the room.
"Zion now that we know there is a patter I want the women and children's on a curfew. No one out past 8. You six will make sure that the curfew is being followed. Including the trackers." I say. They all nod there head and leave the room. I walk to my desk and make a call to one of my frontliners Sam who I have watching my mom.
"Hey Sam how is my mom?"
"Um no offense alpha but I don't think she wants me here."
"Shit." I say sitting down. "What did she do to you?"
"Don't worry nothing I couldn't handle alpha. She is safe and in bed and all the doors and windows are locked."
"Ok good if you get tired you make sure to call Tristan or Devon so they can send someone out there to watch while you get some rest."
"Ok I will alpha."
"Alright stay safe and alert." I say hanging up. With the way my mom is I can only imagine what she has put that boy threw. I shake my head and drop it to my desk wishing I could go to sleep. I turn to the side and look at Alex. He is standing there smiling at me.
"What are you smiling about?" I ask cautiously.
"You kissed me." He says smirking. My cheeks turn red and I look anywhere but at him.
"I'm happy I didn't have to feel like I forced you to kiss me." I stand up and walk towards him.
"You couldn't force me even if you wanted to." I say to him. He laughs and shakes his head.
"You sure about that mate."
"I'm positive."
"Let's see if that's true." He grabs me by the back of my neck and pulls me to him but I just twist his arm and pull him back towards me.
"Try again." I whisper to him.
I let him go and he grabs me by my waist and spins me around before pulling my back to his chest. I flip him and we both laugh. I straddle him and pin him down.
"I told you s-" he pulls my head down and kisses me roughly. He smiles into the kiss and I pull back shocked.
"No i told you so." He rolls us over and stands up before lifting me up.
"Put me down Alex I can walk."
"I know you can sweetheart but as your mate I have the right to hold you." He says. He carries me to my door and kisses me again before turning around to leave.
"Wait." I say to him. He turns around. "You can come in for a little while." He smirks and I continue. "You don't have to but it helps with my heat when your close by." I say looking down. If I'm being honest I need him to help me with this heat, this is the worst one I've had and the pain is horrible. The only way I've been getting threw it is the small touches and kisses here and there. Thank god it should be over by tomorrow morning.
"Yeah sure." He says following me in. He looks around my room and walks straight to my wall of pictures.
"I was in here earlier but I was to worried about you to look around." He says smiling.
"Who's that?" He asks pointing to my dad.
"Alpha Anthony Parh, one of the greatest alphas ever. Aka my dad." I say standing next to him. He smiles.
"You look like him." He says running his finger down the side of my face.
"Yeah we have the same hair, eyes and nose. I get everything else from my mom."
"How come you don't have any pictures of your mom on the wall?" He says looking at the wall again.
"It's complicated." I say not really knowing how to explain it. He pulls his shirt and pants off and jumps on my bed.
"Then explain it to me." He rolls around in my bed for a minute while I watch and smirk.
"How old are you Alex?" I ask.
"19, why?"
"Well one you are rolling around in my bed like a 5 year old and two I just realized I know almost nothing about you besides the fact that you're an alpha and you're my mate."
"Come lay down and we can swap stories." I head to my closet and change into a pair of shorts and a tank top before walking to the bathroom and brushing my teeth.
I climb on the bed trying to keep some space between us but he pulls me to him.
"Tell me about your mom." He says quietly.
"When I was seven me my mom and my dad took at hike into the woods. We were suppose to go have a picnic because my mom had been begging him to get out the pack house more. We got there and not more than 20 minutes later we were attacked by rouges. At that time I didn't know what my parents were or what was going on. My mom and me survived but the loss of losing her mate physically broke her heart. She has bad heart problems and any little thing can trigger a panic attack for her and put her in the hospital. She's really fragile. After my father died instead of taking control of the pack she gave up her Luna tittle and turned her then eight year old into an alpha of a world she knew nothing about."
"Wow."
"Yeah." I say looking away from him.
"Is that why I haven't seen her around?"
"Yeah. She left the pack and lives in town."
"So how did you find out about all the werewolf stuff?"
"Zion mostly, my uncle max but he's a dirty power hungry mutt." I say. "He was trying to marry me off to some old alpha so he could take control of my territory." Alex growls and I rest my hand on his cheek and he calms down.
"Where is he now?"
"About two or three weeks back he went missing. We think the rouges got him."
"He's lucky I didn't get my hands on him." He says snarling. To both our surprise I lean forwards and rest my head on his chest. His arms tighten around me and her kisses my forehead.
"Tell me about you." I say to him.
"There isn't really much to tell. My dad was alpha and he passed the title down to me."
"How did the pack suddenly get so strong?"
"Well it's actually partly your fault. Once the rouges started attacking I wasn't taken it serious and my dad threatened to revoke my title and give it to my cousin Evan. So I pulled myself and my beta and gamma together and we started doing research and training until we were strong."
"What does it have to do with me?" I ask confused.
"I didn't want to come to help from the alpha and seem like I was a weak alpha." He says running his hands threw my hair.
"That's good because if I thought you were weak I probably wouldn't have helped you." I say honestly. He laughs at I look up at him. He has the greenest eyes I've ever seen and his hair is dark as night.
"You are a very attractive man." I say smiling. He looks down and frowns.
"Amelia I have something to confess. I.. I didn't save myself for you. I was a dumb kid and an alpha and I wasn't thinking a lot of the time." My heart clenches but I just hold him tighter.
"Let's just not talk about it. Good night."
"I'm so sorry Amelia, please don't shut me out."
"You're my mate. As long as your...past... doesn't come knocking at my door were good." I say kissing him.
