I sat in the coffee shop sipping my hot chocolate. It was late autumn and by now it was getting pretty cold, but I love it this way. God, I loved autumn so much, I didn't have to worry about sweat and feeling disgusting. I could wear sweaters all I wanted and leave my hair down and drink hot coco and it just feels so nice to be able to do those small things.
I've been coming to this coffee shop for years now and every time I walk in they start fixing my drink which I really appreciate, it's really helpful on my bad mornings. Sometimes i can walk in and grab my drink. So if they need anything I'm gladly returning the favor by helping them with the customers.
This morning when I woke up I felt weird about today. It wasn't necessarily a bad feeling, but it wasn't good. Which to me meant something bad was gonna happen, and to my surprise I was correct.
My happy day dream was brutally interrupted by screams of terror and some rapid gunshots. My first instinct was to grab my concealed weapon and aim it at the robber. Cocking the trigger back my eyes flickered to a tall, skinny man. Not unhealthy skinny but he was small. He had just gotten to the counter when the shots happened and he had fell to his knees avoiding the gun shots.
"Sir, please put your weapon down now." I ordered. I could see a gun in the tall mans gun carrier. I don't know what it's called and that isn't something to think about right now.
"Give me your money!! Everyone, now!" He shouted, slinging his arm around with him wherever he turned.
"Sir!!" I shouted, "Drop the Weapon, Now!! No one has to get hurt. I don't want to shoot you!"
Once again he didn't listen, instead shooting at a small child's mother and hitting her in the arm. It angered me and I pulled my finger back on the trigger shooting the man in the leg causing him to drop down. Without noticing the skinny man with his gun out as well and he had shot him too. I looked over at him with sorrow and carefully put my gun away and ran over to the man pinning him on his stomach and holing his hands behind him grabbing the pair of handcuffs I had just incase.
I'm training to be a police officer or in the FBI. So I always carry these around so I can protect some people in danger if it happens near me.
I put the handcuffs on the chubby man and stood up running over to the lady with a gunshot wound and helping her up and taking her outside while an ambulance arrived maybe a minute after and the tall man walked the chubby robber outside.
"Ma'am I hope you heal properly and feel better this evening. I'll pay for your coffee for a couple of months." I didn't really mind spending my money on someone besides she's gonna need this extra little help. Hospital bills are outrageous.
She smiled wiping away tears, "thank you so much you saved a lot of people today. I can't thank you enough.." She pulled me into an embracing hug with one arm and I rubbed her back.
"It's my pleasure..." I wrote down my number on a piece of paper and gave it to her, " if you and your family ever need me call me."
She nodded and smiled "thank you.."
I smiled and waved to her and walked over to the police officers. The tall man was there too.
"Are you the one who arrested him?" Asked one of the officers.
I nodded, "yeah, I have a concealed weapon permit. "
I pulled the permit out of my wallet and showed it to them. The officer nodded and handed it back to me.
The tall man smiled at me awkwardly. In a way, it was kind of cute.
"H-hi... I'm Spencer, S-Spencer Reid.."
I giggled at him stuttering, "hi I'm scarlet, it's nice to meet you."
"A-are you not an officer or in the FBI? " he asked a little quietly.
I shook my head to both sides, "no but I'm going to college for the FBI, I've always wanted to be an agent"
"Oh, well it's a good job, it has some major ups and downs but I love the job."
"That's good, we had better get going, they probably have to interrogate him. I wanna be there." I said smiling
He blushed a little, "y-yeah... Did you drive here?"
I shook my head again, "no I walked here, my college isn't far away from where I live."
"Y-you can ride in my car I ha-" he was cut off by a beautifully built man.
"Hey boy genius, who's this?" The man said leaning on Spencer's shoulder.
"Uh, I, she,..." His face burnt red from embarrassment of saying a whole bunch of randomness, " h-her names scarlet..."
"H-hi" I stuttered, why am I stuttering? Ugh. Great, " are you gonna introduce yourself?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, oops, sorry pretty girl, I'm Derek Morgan, FBI. I work with Spencer. "
"Nice, I'm going to college to join the FBI. I should be out of school around March." I said scratching the back of my head.
"W-we should probably go guys" Spencer said nervously.
We agreed and I got in the car with Spencer. It was silent for most of the entire ride. He had on hand on the steering wheel and another on the arm rest, only while we were at the red light. He had mentioned he was a germaphobe and always had to drive with two hands. It made me giggle because I was the same way. I never touched anyone unless I had too. If I had the chance to a avoid touching Someone you bet I would. I hated touching people I didn't know, and Spencer was the same way. For some reason I liked this guy. He was really sweet.
