I woke up to the sound of my blaring alarm and my mom's morning voice, asking my dad and me to get ready.

Dragging myself out of the bed, I walked into my washroom thinking about my family. We are a family of four, my dad is a accountancy professor in the community college and my mom is a housewife. My brother is studying mechanical engineering in Browns university and I am expected to do the same. Ughhhhh, this is so much pressure, with a progidy elder brother, expectations reach the sky.

June is so lucky this way, she is the elder one, so her little sister lives under her shadow.

Oh yeah! I will drive to school with June today, I think as I start dressing up. Today was Monday, and the private school we studied in had this strange rule of us wearing a boring uniform on Mondays and free dress the rest of the week. So, I pulled out my neatly hung uniform, my mom had kept in my wardrobe and put the skirt on.

As I was putting on my shirt, I heard my mom calling me, asking me to hurry since dad had to leave early. I shouted out to her, that I was riding with June today and recieved a very happy 'Okay dear' in reply.

See, this the thing with June, she is so likable, that even my mom adores her. While She doesn't let me learn to drive a car, and expects me to go to school on the yo-bike, saying learning driving at 16years is not useful, I have plenty of time to learn it later; she is extremely fond of the friend of mine who either drives to school on her bike or goes around in a chauffeur driven car and is a good driver.

Sometimes I don't know if I like her a lot or am jealous of her.

Thinking of all this, I grab my bag and go downstairs to the kitchen where my dad is stuffing the last piece of his bread in his mouth and my mom is packing a lunch for me. I smile at them, murmuring a "good morning". I pull out a chair and sit to breakfast.

Half way through the breakfast, I glance at the watch, it's 7:45am already, and the school starts at 8:00am, if June doesn't hurry I will surely get late. What if June has forgotten to pick me up? My mind started swirling with all the possibilities, of June forgetting to pick me, I getting late for my physics test, getting a detention.

My mom's voice and an annoying horn snaps me out of the trance, I hear my mother saying something like,'June's here. Hurry or you guys will be late. Tell her a hi from me.'

I nodded, hardly registering anything and run into the back seat of the car.

June was sitting there, in her car, with crossed legs and her bag on her knee and playing with her phone. I voiced a 'Hi' and she nodded her head in acknowledgement, before turning back onto the phone.

Ugh! Now she isn't even interested in talking to me? Am I that boring? The only reason I ride to school with her was to spend time alone with her, talking. Considering her popularity, spending alone time with her was impossible.

I was sulking and watching the world pass by through her car's dark windows. Suddenly, I felt her hand's on my shoulders, and her piping voice,"Guess what I was doing now??"

I shrugged, acting disinterested, just like did 1 minute ago, though I was extremely anxious to know.

She chuckled, then continued gushing,"heyyy, I know you are interested in talking to me, don't act like a dousché! And guess what, I was just inviting a few family friends to the trip to the Caribbean with my family and dad asked me to invite them. Its gonna be AWESOME! I am so excited!!"

She kept chattering happily and I kept listening, smiling to myself, wondering, how she guessed that I was extremely interested.

We reached school, exactly at 8:00am. June coaxed the guard on the gate to let us in, without a late slip, and lo behold, like always, we were let in.
