People fall in love many times, but there will always be this one true love that will linger in your heart no matter how many years have passed. It seems so long but it still feels like yesterday when my heart beat for her. I was a 4th year college student when I met my one true love.
"Mr. Alfonso!" The professor's booming voice echoed inside the classroom. He shot me a disapproving look when I awakened.
Tch. I'm already seated at the back and yet he still noticed me.
"Why are you sleeping in my class?!"
Some blockmates were snickering, some remained silent. I looked around to know who were snickering when my eyes landed on a beautiful girl seated right next to me. Right then and there, I fell in love with her. She smiled then mouthed, 'the prof!'
Her smile made my heart melt. I wanted to continue gazing at the beauty beside me but I did not want to get scolded any further so I stood up and mumbled my apologies.
"Please pay attention next time!" He looked at me, then to my only seatmate, "and what are you?" I looked at him with disdain. Has he no respect for his students?
"I think she's a student. I mean, that's what my level of thinking could comprehend, seeing she is wearing a student's uniform." The others laughed when they saw the professor's face turn red from humiliation.
"Excuse me, mr. Alfonso?! You dare mock my level of intelligence?" He was clearly enraged but I kept my composure. "How dare you disrespect me!"
I was supposed to counter him if she hadn't intervened.
"Uh, Mr. Pacquing, I'm a transferee. I wasn't able to hand this..." She waved her registration form in the air as she spoke, "because you were busy scolding mr. Alfonso.."
"Oh, was I talking to you, miss..." He paused to look at her registration form, "Fernandez? Tell me, who gave you permission to join in this conversation? Children these days. I wonder... Where did your manners go? Down the drain along with your brain?"
Okay, now this is harrassment. That was uncalled for. I looked at her, she looked at me. I motioned her to look at the hand-out I was holding. Then we smiled at each other. Clearly we both had the same thing in mind.
"Respect begets respect." We said in perfect sync.
"We might just be your students, but we are still humans." It was Justin, our reliable president. "And she's new here too, so please don't scare her off."
Mr. Pacquing gave me a sharp look before turning his back on us, "alright class, turn your handouts to page 4..."
5 minutes passed. 45 minutes passed. Until finally, the lecture was finished.
"Hey, sorry about the prof a while ago. Don't worry you'll get used to him, sooner or later." She only nodded and smiled. "I'm Jonathan."
I held out my hand which she reluctantly shook, "Rachelyn."
Weeks passed and all we ever had was small talk. It's a bit difficult to get to know her because she's too focused on her studies plus I did not have experience in charming women.
I asked my guy friend and he answered, "girls love guys who can cook and bake. I think you can handle both."
I'm a great cook, but I'm even better at baking. My specialty: cupcakes. I'm not exaggerating or anything, but my cupcakes are the best in town.
The next day, I came to school with a cupcake in hand. I carefully placed the cupcake on my desk and started conversing with my blockmate. The bell rang to signify the start of classes and as I looked towards the door, a beautiful angel entered.
