I awoke to the sound of sirens, the blaring sound filled my room and the red and blue lights from the police cars danced on my walls. Bolting out of bed i looked through the window as Tikki, still under the spell of sleep clung to my sleeve. "What do you think is going on Marinette?" Tikki exclaimed as she rubbed her eyes. "I don't know Tikki but we are going to find out, Tikki spots on!" The room filled with a bright light as I transformed.

Climbing up to my roof I looked around me to see what was going on. It took me a moment to Adjust to the darkness before me and to understand what was happening, and then I understood. "Oh god!" I whispered to myself as I stifled back a sob, down below the block was overrun by police officers, firefighters and ambulances all rushing around to the correct position, never had I seen so many in one spot. The men and woman looked frantic, all yelling orders over each other and preparing for something to happen. When my eyes drifted upward I saw what may have been one of the most frightening views I had ever looked upon. Adrien agreste was standing inches away from the edge of a roof top and had one foot already at the rim.

"What is he doing! I breathed to myself while trying to stop my hands from shaking. The police men down below shouted up to him through a loud speaker. "Son you need to come down, there is no need for this foolishness." Adrien ran his shaky fingers through his hair and watched below as he yelled back. " I'm not coming down, you can't stop me from doing this, I will only come down if my father comes to get me." The police men all shook their heads in disapproval. I kept thinking to myself, was Adriens life really that miserable? I truly doubted it. He always seemed so happy with his modeling and his fancy trips and girls, to think of it he always seemed to be smiling. Was it all an act? While I was stupidly lost In thought I heard commotion start to stir below and people began to scream.

My head snapping up and my eyes bolting to Adrien I saw his arms were outspread like wings and his eyes were closed, ready to take the leap. Grabbing my yoyo I swung from the surrounding buildings faster that I ever had before and landed next to a water heater that was somewhat behind Adrien. Trying to stay quiet I started to walk up from behind him. "Adrien?" I asked as I stopped a few feet behind him, worrying if I went any closer my legs might fail me. His body went rigid and still as he slowly turned around to face me. "Ladybug." He croaked out with a weak voice. "Hi Adrien" I said with the tone you might use to speak to a child. "Want to tell me what's wrong?" Surprisingly he just laughed and then after a moment of heart crushing silence he spoke. "I'm invisible." His hair flowed in the breeze and I could see the sadness in his eyes. "Invisible?" I asked, and then it was my turn to laugh "are you kidding?" I said with a harsher tone than intended, " you are Adrien Agreste! Fancy model boy who all of Paris loves, and you think you are invisible?" The hurt showed in his eyes as he looked into mine. "Yeah yeah Paris loves me, but the people I love, the people I would do anything for don't notice me, they don't see me ladybug." He looked straight into my eyes as he spoke, and then I said it "And you don't see me" It was nothing more than a whistle in the wind but he heard it. "Pardon?" He squeaked out with confusion fogging his thoughts. Looking at him with sorrow in my eyes I said quietly. "Nothing adrien, it's nothing, now will you please get down from that ledge. You don't want to do this, not to your friends, not to your family, I'm begging you to please just step down." The strain in my voice was beginning to show through and just at that moment my earrings began to blink. "Yes I think I do want to do this, my father might not even notice I'm gone until they have to bang on His door and demand he open his eyes and realize his only son is dead." The sadness in my eyes must have shown because he then quietly added "ladybug, the voices won't stop, it's been a week and they won't stop." Confused I take a moment to realize what he means and then I remember. "You have voices in your head from the akuma attack? Why didn't you come and find chat noir and I? We could have helped." He laughed a bitter snarl as he replied to me, "maybe you could have helped ladybug, but it's been too late for too long, it's okay lady, oh and about my dad and the people I love it's truly not going to be a big deal to him, or to the person I love, she won't miss me as much as I would miss her. " he said with tears in his eyes. "Oh and ladybug, it's time for you to go, your going to change back soon."

As I looked at my earrings I noticed that I had one spot left and before I could say something about not even caring, Adrien looked me in the eyes and said. "I'm so so sorry my lady" and arms spread wide he let himself free fall backwards. At that moment, at that split moment in time a thought so crazy crosses my mind, "my lady" at that moment I let lose a scream that all of Paris could hear and though I knew I only had seconds left until I transformed back I leaped over the edge and dove for Adrien. Throwing my yoyo to the lamp post a few streets away I latched on and just before Adrien hit the ground he was in my arms and we were swinging away from the mess of people below. I swung as far as I could but I felt the power of my miraculous slipping away so I did the only thing I could do, I simply let go of my yoyo and then I tucked Adrien into me and let myself fall backwards into the unknown spot that I would land. I held him as tight as I could and as I felt my disguise slip away I simply hugged him, at that moment I felt bliss with him in my arms, for this moment he would be safe, bliss, and then the bliss was gone and all I felt was pain and then I fell into an endless well filled with darkness instead of water.
