I've seen Dinah and Lauren whispering to each other and sharing little private looks, but I trusted Lauren and I loved her, so initially I didn't react.
I kept that up for a whole three weeks before the novelty wore off. I was almost sure Lauren wasn't cheating, no, but she and Dinah obviously knew something that I didn't and that wasn't gonna work. That, plus the fact that we've been touring nonstop and I haven't been able to touch Lauren in about a month made me anxious in ways I didn't understand.
We were all in the sleeping bus and preparing to go to our bunks because we were all dead tired. Dinah and Lauren, once again, were standing near the bunks with their backs turned and their heads ducked as if that would stop me from noticing that they were quite obviously talking. I wasn't upset, just vaguely concerned.
When Lauren finally climbed into her bunk, after talking to Dinah for like an hour, I cross the two feet of space between my bunk and Lauren's, fuming.
"Hi." I greeted drily, pulling back the curtain. Lauren looked up, unsurprised that was in her bunk, but more so because of the way I had greeted her.
Lauren arched an eyebrow, confusion etched into her features. "Hey?"
"What's up?" I asked, settling myself beside Lauren to let her know that wasn't going anywhere. Lauren looked at me like I'd gone crazy, but it's not like we don't both know that I was.
"Um," Lauren started, "I think you more than anyone knows 'what's up' right now bae."
It was my turn to raise an eyebrow, then. "Oh, am I? You've been talking to Dinah an awful lot recently. I bet she knows loads more than I do. Maybe I should've asked her instead."
Lauren's eyes widened, like she forgot that she's been hiding things from me for a week and some. "Ah, that." she said, and she glanced at me before looking away. "Her mum has been complaining about not seeing her, so she's been talking to me about it."
And she was obviously lying. Why did she feel she need to lie to me?
"Lolo, you're a horrible cheat. You can't tell a lie to save your life." I said slowly, because, honestly.
Then, for some strange reason, Lauren started laughing. She lifted a hand to play with the hem of her shirt as she giggled, looking up at me.
"I did something," she said, still giggling, still tugging at the bottom of her shirt. I rolled my eyes at her, and sighed.
"Out with it then, babe." I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest. Lauren bit her lip before lifting her shirt up and over her head in the tight space. I started wondering why Lauren would find it necessary to strip right now, before telling me what she has done. She isn't wearing a bra, so I noticed something shiny on Lauren's boobs- two somethings, actually, over her nipples and oh mother of God are those-
"Are those piercings? Are those legitimate piercings, Lauren?" I whisper-shout.ed I could see that they were nipple rings, silver, about two centimetres in diameter, resting on Lauren's chest. I felt like salivating.
"You like?" Lauren asked, smiling like she knew just how wet I had just gotten from just seeing them. She probably does, honestly, so I don't acknowledge the question.
"Jesus. Why- Why've you been hiding these?" I asked swallowing thickly. Lauren's nipples were a rosy pink, a bit swollen, and I wanted to taste her.
"I wasn't really hiding them, honestly. I was just waiting for them to heal fully."
I reached forward, so ready to touch, but I stop myself. "Can I?" I ask, and my voice was trembling.
Lauren nodded, releases her bottom lip from between his teeth to whisper, "Yeah, go ahead."
