Chapter 13: Cold Treatment

Those who are watching are surprised that those are the only words that Ryuuki said. They expected something quite different. They are astounded as what they saw conversing is only the Emperor and an official. There is no sign of Ryuuki nor Shuurei. It was alright for Shuurei's part but it was kind of unexpected of Ryuuki. His gaze at her is different from the way he always does. It was like he had totally forgotten that the woman he loves is the same to the woman standing in front of him and about to leave. Riou is pleased by this though.

They are further surprised when someone yelled behind them, ''wait! Shuurei-chan!'' it was Jyuusan-hime. Shuuei sweat-dropped. His sister just stole the limelight. Shuurei looked back and saw Jyusan running to her.

''How unlady like,'' Seiran commented to tease Shuuei.

''Got a problem with that? I am not my sister's keeper you know,'' Shuuei said as he crossed his arms.

''Not really,'' Seiran said with a smirk.

''You just wait. You don't know how beautiful my sister looks when she acts nobly. I doubt you would not fall for her,'' Shuuei said proudly. Then when he realized what he said, he took it back. ''What I mean is, don't you dare fall for her because I would never take you as my brother.''

''I never said anything like wanting to be your brother either. And I commented that way since she is the Chief of the court ladies. Don't you think she should have acted differently,'' Seiran threw back at him.

''She's leaving anyway,'' said Shuuei as an excuse.

Jyuusan-hime reached Shuurei and hugged her tightly. ''Shuurei-chan, I'm going to miss you,'' Jyuusan said as she squeezed Shuurei again.

''Is this another of your lovers?'' Tantan asked in a bored tone.

''Ah yes,'' Jyuusan replied for Shuurei with a smile.

''Perhaps,'' Shuurei said to Tantan. And Jyusan-hime she said, ''I will miss you too. Stay well.''

''I will because I want to eat your cooking again. I will wait until you returns so we could have tea together,'' Jyuusan continued. The listeners sweat-dropped. She is saying things which is supposed to be said by Ryuuki. ''We'll ride and feed horses together again,'' Jyuusan continued.

''Of course! By the time I come back I will be a good rider like you too. I will be able ride them fast as you do,'' Shuurei said happily.

''What exactly are they talking about?'' Kouyou and Ryuuki asked.

''Well apparently Jyuusan had given horseback riding lessons to Shuurei-dono,'' Shuuei explained.

It was Sai Rin who immediately reacted at that. ''That's good then,'' she said to Yuushun's horror. ''Shuurei, I am looking forward to horseback riding with you,'' Sai Rin called out and Yuushun panicked. Sweat run down his face.

''Rin, I forbid you in horseback riding. You might accidentally fall,'' Yuushun said as he held her hand.

''Husband, don't make that face. Are you underestimating my riding skills? Don't worry when Shuurei returns I would have given birth for a long time already,'' Rin replied with a smile but she pulled her hand away. Yuushun sighed in exasperation. The way Sai Rin emphasized the word husband made Yuushun helpless despite the fact that he is really her husband. It reminded him that this was his fault for keeping secrets about his real identity from his own wife. ''Of course I'll join you too Jyuusan-hime,'' Rin continued and Yuushun almost dropped to the ground since Jyuusan would be fairly close to Rin since they are both in Kiyou.
