|Avery's pov|
One month laterIt was relatively hot out, Hayden and I decided to go to the mall where they had unlimited air con and all the clothing stores our eighteen year old selves could possibly want to explore. (If I haven't already said the boys are 18 in this story)
Things with the boys were going well, we FaceTime and call them often, it almost feels as if we are still a few apartments away from them. But then night time would come around and laying in bed alone never felt so depressing.
I guess we hadn't really noticed how much they changed our lives. They say 'you never know how much something means to you until it's gone' and it's true, you really don't.
However we both know better than to let it get us down, they don't want that. So we made a calendar, counting down the days until we see them again. We'd already planned that we were going to go to their event, with meet and greet passes, and go all 'surprise motherfucker' on their peachy arses.
In fact that was another reason we were at the mall, to get outfits that made us hot but not too hot. You know what I mean?
Ordering a quick Starbucks before entering the next clothing store, a group of prepubescent girls were giving us dirty looks, pointing and whispering rather loudly. So much for being discrete.
"Aren't those the girls that were hanging out with the boys in Alex's snapchat?" The tallest one, a blonde blue eyed girl 'whispered', causing all the other girls to gasp.
"Didn't you see the video they posted? They're official!" The second one said a lot louder, looking to the tallest then to the rest of the group.
"I didn't see that video." The shortest one stated, staring us down. I was watching through my peripheral vision so it was hard to see properly. The disgust they were directing towards my best friend and I was so obvious we didn't need to look at them to know it was there."Fake fan." One laughed, I snorted at them and thanked the Starbucks worker when she handed me my 'cool lime refresha'.
I turned so I was facing, not looking at them whilst I got a straw from the counter."Hey! You're Grayson's girl?" Who I was guessing was the most confident girl of the group shouted to me, drawing the attention of a few passers by. Hayden came to my side, getting herself a straw.
"Yeah, can I help you with anything?" I smiled, although it was fake I needed to be nice to them. Just in case it came to bite me in the butt and I could say that I was civil throughout the whole thing. The boys had talked to us a lot about if we are to encounter any fans like these.
To be honest I'm surprised this is the first ones we'd run into."You could start by leaving the boys alone, especially you. Ethan's mine." She pointed a finger at Hayden and immediately I got defensive, standing in front of her.
"Well he's obviously not. He loves Hayden and she loves him. If you were really his fans you'd be thankful to her for bringing a smile to his face.""I don't even wanna talk to you right now, come on girls." She grabbed the arms of the two closest girls and turned to walk away but Hayden stopped her, stepping out from behind me.
"What have we done to you? We were just trying to enjoy ourselves and you've completely ruined that for us. It's been hard enough knowing that people may recognise us wherever we go from now on, if you could just let us get on with our day without throwing rude, snide comments at us, that'd be lovely." She returned their disgust look, grabbing my arm and pulling me into forever 21.Honestly, I'm not one to shy away from confrontations but the fact that people, especially ones that have just exited the womb, are willing to attack me for who I choose to call my boyfriend.
I know one day it won't matter because they'll be married and probably won't even remember who Ethan and Grayson are but it still hurts. For the rest of the shopping trip Hayden and I were silent, only speaking when one of us needed the toilet or was going to pay for something. We silently followed the other and we were both okay with that.
When we came home the search to find an apartment to share started. It was fun sharing an apartment with my best friend, I highly recommend it. Our parents helped us out with it, obviously and we had to make sure it was close to our university, which is just some prestigious uni in the heart of London.
Returning to our apartment I flicked on the lights, both of us going our separate ways. Entering my room I plopped down on the bed, messaging Grayson to ask if he was up.
I rose from my comfy bed and put on some new pyjamas I bought today. Deciding that I wanted a hot chocolate I slid on my slipper socks and exited my room.
"I know, it just upset me." Hayden sobbed. Peaking through the small crack of her door I saw her sat on her bed, her phone pressed to her ear. She bit the skin of her lip as she listened to him speak.
"I love you too." She sighed, hanging up."Hey, I was gonna make some hot chocolate, want some?" I pushed her door open, walking in, "come on. Bring your blanket and pillows."
She did as instructed and I made sure she was comfy on the sofa before closing the blinds and setting up the movie, running to the kitchen to make some cocoa."Grayson wants you to call him." She read a notification on her phone and rested it down on the sofa next to her.
I did just that, finding his contact, pressing FaceTime and waiting as it rang.
"Hey mama Sita." It was Alex that answered.
"Hey Alexandra." I winked, stirring the powder into the water, "where's Gray?"
"I'm here!" He called, taking his phone from Alex.
"Hey, you wanted to talk to me?" I started trying to find a place to stand my phone up so they could see me.
"Yeah, I heard what happened today and I wanted to check on you."
"Honestly, I'm fine. They were a bunch of two year olds and they didn't even say anything that offensive. Thinking about it it was ridiculously hilarious..." We both started laughing, even Hayden joined in from the other room.So that's how the rest of the night (day for them) went, Hayden and I laughing about it with the boys, all wanting to be together again.
