Prologue - Just Another Girl
~~~~~April's POV~~~~~
"Common Melody!" I shouted to my best friend.
"Just a second!"
I've been waiting all morning for her to get ready. We're going to the mall! You don't need to get all dressed up to go shopping!
"Melody! It's the mall! Let's go!" I stomped into the bathroom and dragged her out of our shared flat and into the elevator.
"I was finishing up my makeup! Now I don't have enough lip gloss on and it's going to make my lips look weird!" She complained.
"Nobody is going to notice your freaking lip gloss, Melody!"
"Fine but not my fault if people are looking at me weirdly."
I rolled my eyes and waited for the elevator to reach the ground floor.
"Who's car are we taking?" I asked her as I headed towards the parking lot.
"Yours because someone rushed me and I didn't have time to quickly grab my keys."
"Melody, we are going to the mall it doesn't take 3 hours to get ready for Christ sake!"
"Sorry if I want to look good." She mumbled.
"And for who? The strangers that we see at the mall? Yeah okay have fun looking good and showing off to people you don't even know."
"Yeah yeah whatever."
~~~~~At the Mall~~~~~
"Well I don't know about you but I need some bras!" Melody shouted gaining a couple dirty looks.
"Alright alright we're going to go look for bras." I said laughing. "Anything else?"
"Let's just browse other stores after and see if there's anything good."
"Sounds like a plan."
We walked down the escalators and towards Victoria Secret.
As we walked into the store, I noticed a guy was in there.
"Melody!" I whisper/shouted to her. "There's a guy." I said pointing to him.
"Hey, I'm not complaining." She joked.
Come to think of it, he was pretty hot, with his short brown hair, dark blue eyes, broad shoulders and muscular arms, I wasn't complaining either.
Melody walked around looking for some bras and eventually went to go try them on.
I waited in front of the change rooms for her, and that's where the guy was too.
I started texting some of my friends but couldn't help notice him starring at me.
"I'm sorry, can I help you?" I asked him.
"Uh n-no sorry I just can't believe how beautiful you are." He said smiling.
"Thank you, but don't you have a girlfriend?"
Right at that moment, a girl with long dark brown hair walked out of the change rooms.
"Okay babe, I'm done, ready to go?" She asked him.
"Yeah let's go." He said standing up.
He let his girlfriend walk in front of him while he stayed behind and slipped a piece of paper in my hand.
As he walked away, he turned around and winked at me. Immediately, I turned bright red.
Minutes later, Melody came out of the change rooms.
"I'm going to go pay." She said gesturing to the cashiers.
"Yeah yeah." I said.
I put my phone away and before I got up to go join her, I read the note.
'No, this isn't my number, well duh I mean like it's writing but anyway, meet me at the food court in 20 minutes
~ Brendan'
I quickly joined Melody at the cashier and handed her the note.
"Who gave you this?!" She asked excited.
"The guy that was just here!"
"Oh my God you need to go!"
"But what about you? Where are you going to go?"
"Don't worry about me! He's like asking you out on a date and you're worrying about where I'm going to go?! I'm your best friend April, I'm not going to prevent you from going on a date!"
"Okay okay I'll go!"
"Good, now you're going to be late."
"Right, I'll text you after okay?"
"Yeah see you later."
I started walking out of the store when I heard Melody call my name.
"April! One last thing!"
"What?" I turned around to face her.
"Go get him."
