I blinked, trying to force the sleep out of my eyes. 90 ounces of energy drinks all mixed together in a Big Gulp had done a lot for me, but all of that caffeine was starting to wear off. I looked at the clock.
"Well no wonder," I muttered to myself. It was already almost four in the morning. Great. Classes all day and coding all night had been murder on my sleep schedule, but how else was I going to ever finish this game? A one-man coding team was, to put it lightly, not exactly the most efficient at making an adventure game.
I sighed. "Bethesda doesn't have to deal with this."
I took my hands from the keyboard and rubbed my eyes. On the one hand, I really needed to go to sleep. Sure, I didn't have any classes in the morning, but you can only be fueled by Big Gulps for so long before you crash. But on the other hand, this game was going to be the gateway to the big time as a game designing millionaire. I paused, then looked down at the desk.
"Who needs sleep anyway." I breathed, and with that I popped open yet another Red Bull.
Of course, right before I drank it, my phone buzzed: the caller ID lighting up with "Doug." My brother. It's just like him to be calling while I'm busy. He always calls in the middle of night.
"Hey, what do you want!" I shouted.
I was too tired to pay that much attention; he just rambled on about his hack of Game of Life. That game is so old school, anyway. All I could think of was how he should have hacked another game as he gushed on and on about his silly little "game."
