I was sitting on our mattress, grasping onto Aspyn, shaking and crying. Aspyn was basically my little sister who's been through everything with me. You could hear the screaming of our foster parents outside the bedroom door, piercing our ears with anger and more painful memories. Not like we've had enough anyways. The slurring disgusting words shouting out at each other with no regret. I hated this. I hated being a foster kid. The moving around, abused to the breaking point. The worst part was seeing Aspyn like this, her heart so pure she can never see the bad.
We were stunned and ripped apart from each other when we heard a smash. We opened the door and ran out, only to reveal a smashed bottle on the floor, vodka spilled all over and speckles of blood stained. My jaw dropped to the ground, tears welled up in my eyes, and my stomach twisted in a knot as Frankie, my foster dad, turned around. His blue eyes red with anger, tangled up dirty blonde hair, beat up bloody hands, and his mouth slobbering like a dog. "What do you want sweet heart", he smirked with his bloody teeth. "I'm tired of your drunk ass", I mumbled under my breath. Not thinking he would hear it, my mouse brown hair was yanked. The piercing pain shot through my head, tears trickling down my cheek as I screamed in agony. I yelled at Aspyn to go hide as my hair was practically getting pulled out of my head. He turned around, his hand letting go of my hair and I tried to run only to feel his foot hard against my back. My hands hit the cold ground, my shaky voice was begging for him to stop. His steel foot hit my head, smashing my face into the ground as I spat out blood. I thought this was the end until there was another bang, then silence. All I could hear was the small whimpers from Aspyn as I looked up and saw her, a gun in her hand. Her eyes showed relief and terror all at the same time. "I didn't know what to do", she said. Then I woke up.
