Inspired by Sheenagh Pugh's poem "The Craft I Left In Was Called Esau". Sheenagh Pugh is an environmentalist, and her poem is about humans leaving Earth permanently, and so is mine. It was written in 10 minutes in my English lesson, so I hope you enjoy!

The Eart was dying, dead, that much was obvious,

Grey sky, grey ground, black sea,

All the colours of the monochromatic rainbow.

Our craft was called Revelations,

And what a revelation it was,

Speed of light, warp speed, whatever

You want to call it, we ran away. Fast.

Our destination - who knows?

Travelling on, never stopping,

Slowly forgetting the horror we left behind,

The pain we caused to Gaia and her children,

With our filthy ways, filthy wars, filthy bombs,

Leaving the stain of screaming shadows in our wake,

Sucking the Earth of her dead, vibrant lifeforce.
