Chapter 20

Before Nina could replay the scene in her head she heard Aria's voice. "Hey, how was the last class?"

​"Great, we had an in class assignment? Which was easy, How about you?" Nina asked as she stepped away from Aria's locker.

​"Same as always, did u have any problems?" Aria said as she opened her locker and put away her Religion textbook.

​"Nope, everyone was just worried about me," Nina lied.

​"Good because if someone was causing trouble they will have to deal with me. You already have a lot of problems in your life. Did you go to your locker yet?"

​"Yup, I've already went. As of the problem, of course I will tell you if I have problems at school,"

​"Well that's settle, let's check out the Disney store before we head home... By the way we have Chemistry home work right?" Aria asked as she pulled her Chemistry textbook out of her locker.

​"Sure... Anyways yup we do, remember the chapter questions from one to eight."

​"Oh yeah."

​"And I thought I was the one who is missing things." Nina laughed.

​It took them fifteen minutes to walk towards Eaton and when they got to The Disney store, they were so surprised at the way the store looked. Nina looked around the store and noticed the room looked like an enchanted woods. The walls had pixie blue trees that popped out like a 3D effect, while the wall itself had an olive green colour. There was a little yellow mustard princess castle for a changed room and a fountain of Disney plushies toys. Around the castle change room there are little Disney princess costumes and Disney dolls.

When Nina walked towards the back she noticed that it was the boys section, they also had a little change room that looked like a pirate ship with little costumes for boys. Similar to the castle change room, around the ship change room there were Monster. Inc., Cars, Pirate and the Caribbean toys. She was so surprised on how the store look that she didn't noticed Andrew and River in front of her. "Oh hi guys."

​"Finally you noticed us" Andrew teased.

​"Haha very funny" she said as she turned around to look for Aria.

​When she saw Aria behind her, she started to walk towards River and gave him a hug. "Hey guys. When did you guys get here?" Aria said as she walked towards Andrew.

​"A few minutes ago but we couldn't help but laugh at you guys." River replied

​"Ouch.. That hurts" Nina joked.

​"Hey I meant that as a compliment, it was adorable." River said

​"What he meant was that you guys look like little girls in a big toy store." Andrew teased.

​"Well at least, I look adorable as a little girl. You on the other hand look like a..." Aria said as she sticks out her tongue at Andrew.

​At the same time both River and Nina started to laugh uncontrollable. "Oh you two" she said as she continued to laugh. "Oh you guys are making me hurt myself from laughing too much."

Now all of them started to laugh when Nina made a fish face while she spoke. After they had a big laugh, they walked out of the store and towards the food court; they stayed there for three hours as they all worked on homework with each other and ate their dinner. By the time Nina got home it had become nine o clocks and Nina was tired, Dr. Paige told her that she had to get a lot of rest so she had to sleep early. Nina and River walked towards her house while they held hands together. ​"You better go right to bed once you head inside, young lady." River said as they stopped in front of the door.

​"Wow you sound like my mom."

​"Nina, Dr. Paige said so"

​"Ok, ok I'll get to bed as soon as I enter. Don't worry I'm tired anyways, I'll probably fall right to sleep when my head hits the pillow."

​"I'm just worried about you, you know that... Looks like no one is home. Where is your dad anyways? He better not be at a bar."

​"Oh River, he's not at a bar. He went to his AA meeting. He told me this morning that his meeting because he knew I would be waiting for him to get home."

​"Are you sure he is really going?"

​"Of course I believe him; he gave me the address and the time. It starts at 8:30pm. Really River I'm ok, you don't have to worry," Nina said as she hugged River tightly.

​"Ok, Ok. I'll believe in him because you do but if you can't really get your hopes up... Nina I know I'm being hard but I just want to protect you. Are you sure you don't want me to stay?"

​"I know you want to protect me but I'm really ok, if I need you to protect me than I'll tell you. I promise. Really it's ok, if you come in then I will never sleep." She said with a soft tone.

​''Ok, ok. We'll talk about this later. Goodnight and sweet dreams."

​"Yeah sure, we will talk about this tomorrow... Goodnight, sweet dreams. And as always text me when you get home," she said as she let go of River and unlocked the door.

​Once she opened the door she heard River called her name, she turned around to feel River's soft lips on hers and his arms wrapped around her waist. When River let her go he whispered goodnight again before he walked towards the sidewalk. She whispered it back and went in.

As soon as she got in Nina walked towards her kitchen with her leftover of chicken souvlaki from Jimmy the Greek and left the food in the microwave. She left a note for her dad,

"Hey dad, hope you had a good time at your AA meeting, I know you are trying and that makes me happy. Anyways there is some leftover chicken souvlaki if you are hungry. Have a good night.

Nina stuck that note on to the microwave door and headed upstairs to her room, she dropped her school bag on her desk before she lay on her bed. As soon as her head hit the comfy purple and black polka dotted pillow, she fell asleep.
