Detective Story – Traitor
“There has been yet another theft this month. The Royal Bank was the target of the ‘W’ robber. For those of you don’t know who he or she is, the police consider the ‘W’ robber to be responsible for many recent thefts. This particular criminal is unique; they leave their mark at their crime scene and manage to escape. Police have examined this mark many times but there are never fingerprints or things that can be examined further so that we all can find out who this person really is. That is all-”
Amelia switched the television off and then threw the remote control onto the leather sofa. She shook her head in annoyance and turned to face her frustrated colleagues.
“Do you see this? Do you see what’s happening? We are the police and we are crime investigators but we can’t figure out who this person is. Do you even consider what the public are saying? They think we’re useless, we need to up our game and try harder it’s no use just sitting here and listening to the things that we haven’t solved.” Amelia was distraught, her eyebrows were furrowed and she was pacing up and down the room while everyone else was sat around the glass table fretting.
“We’re trying our best Boss but it’s not our fault that this criminal is too smart,” Tom replied, “maybe we just need to bring in the top guns.”
“No Way,” Jeremy shouted from the bottom of the table, “that means we’ve gave up and we haven’t, we won’t.”
“Well, we don’t always get what we want Jeremy, Tom’s right we need to call them it’s going too far. Sarah, arrange a meeting with the Top Detectives for today, sooner the better.” Amelia finally took a breath; she wiped her sweat off her forehead with her plain hanky which she pulled out of her blazer pocket.
“Yes Boss,” Sarah sprinted out of the room as fast as she could in her 3 inch heels.
“We’ll just have to see what happens,” Amelia sighed.
“I can’t believe this criminal, how has he or she got in and escaped without getting caught on camera or leaving any clues besides the W mark which just tells us that it’s the same criminal?” Tom argued.
“That’s why we’re calling the Top Agents Tom,” Amelia responded.
“Let’s hope they can crack this case wide open Boss,” Brian muttered near the front of the table.
“We all do,” Amelia replied. Amelia finally stopped pacing and sat in her big chair, placed where she could see and talk to everyone at the table.
Sarah came sprinting back and pushed open the door of the conference room.
“They… said… they… were…,” Sarah panted.
“Oh for Jesus’ Christ spit it out Sarah,” Amelia yelled.
“They’re coming in… 5 minutes, luckily their last… case was New York anyway so… there’ll be here fast,” Sarah finally finished her sentence.
“Good, come on everyone. Prepare for their visit.”
After a while of moving, replacing and organising everything possible in the headquarters everyone made their way to the rooftop. It was 3:00pm so it was still quite bright outside; suddenly everyone heard the sound of helicopter blades approaching and moved many steps backwards. The black Jack Harter helicopter was landing on the rooftop as everything was blowing back. Amelia’s sleek blonde hair was being blown back by the wind created by the blades. Finally when the helicopter landed the wind stopped and everyone straightened their hair out and pulled their blazers lower. Amelia and the rest of the team squinted to see who was coming out of the helicopter hoping it was one of the best. A thin leg wearing skin tight black jeans with heels underneath came out of the helicopter and then another leg slipped out, followed by a head of dark black hair and then a half a mask covering every facial feature beneath the eyes which was tied back behind the hair. When the figure finally stepped out the agency realised it was a girl. She was wearing a black top with a leather jacket that had a gun peeking out of the pocket. When the agency was about to approach her, someone else came along from around the front of the helicopter however this time it was a man. The man was wearing a suit and tie with neatly polished shoes. He tucked his hands into his pockets and approached the girl. This man however wasn’t wearing a mask; his full face was fully shown. The man nodded at her and she nodded back and then walked a few steps closer to the agency.
