Bella's POV

The airport was crowded. People running everywhere trying to get to their flights on time.

While I'm just sitting here reading my book waiting for my flight, which was due to board in 10 minutes.

"Mummy!"

I heard the little girl cry over the loud hum of the voices of people.

I looked around me for the source of all the noise.

"MUMMY"

Why was no-one helping this little girl?

My eyes continued to search around for the small child. Bingo!

The small girl was about ten meters away from me, sitting on the floor crying. My dead heart went out to her.

I took a quick glance around to see if there was anybody coming to collect the child. No. Why was this small child being left alone?

I heaved a sigh, putting my book down and walking over to the child.

I approached the child, noticing that a couple of the humans had turned their head to watch what I was doing. Maybe they thought that I was going to hurt the child.

Stupid humans.

As I neared the little girl, she turned to look at me. Her big, beautiful, blue eyes staring straight at me.

"Hello" I said with a quite, sweet voice. In an attempt to clam the little child.

"I want my MUMMY!" She screamed loader then before.

I flinched as the high pitched sound rang out. Curse these sensitive vampire ears.

"It's ok, do you want to come with me to find your Mummy?" I said nice and quite.

She nodded her head lifting up her arms so that I could carry her. I reached down and picked her up, setting her on my hip. She weighs lighter then a feather.

"It is going to be okay, little one" I said.

Maybe I should use my gift.

I could already feel that this little girl was extremely sad and felt like she had been abandoned by her Mummy. So I sent out little waves of happiness to try to cheer her up a little more.

It seemed to work a little, but I could still feel that she was worried and not very trusting. So I took a small peek into her mind.

This was very easy for me. I remembered when I first stated doing this, back when I was training newborns.

After zoning in on her feelings one last time I finally herd her train of thought and feelings.

I hope Mummy finds me.

Awww. The poor thing.

So I concentrated a little harder in trying to make her see hope.

Yeah, Mummy will find me. She always does.

Finally! The little human can stop making me sad.

I then continued to look through her mind until I come across a memory of her Mum.

Her Mum was beautiful and in the memory she was spinning the little girl around.

"Your Mummy is very beautiful isn't she" I said to the small child.

She nodded her small head.

"Ready to go find Mum?"

"Yeah" I heard her small voice.

I then concentrated on the feelings around me, looking for someone who was worried or anxious.

A train of thought entered my mind a little while later.

My daughter, where has she gone? Is she ok?

The mother's thoughts were slowly getting closer and weren't far off.

" could the passengers boarding flight Q256 please make there way to boarding gate 12, all passages on flight Q256 please make there way to boarding gate 12, Thankyou" the speaker overhead said.

Right, better hurry this up.

I walked in the direction of the child's mother's thoughts until I was a meter away.

" are you ready to see your Mummy?" I said in a small voice to the tiny child.

The little girl nodded her head and looked ahead as her mum came into view.

"MY BABY GIRL, THERE YOU ARE!" The mother exclaimed.

The little girl jumped in my arms and lent forward to get to her mum.

" MUMMY!!" The girl screamed. Her emotions were all over the place but the most prominent was happiness and I couldn't help but smile from the rush of the emotion coursing through the me.

Sometimes my power was awful. To feel someone's pain and suffering was the worst or when someone they loved or they were going to die were among the few that really sucked.

However when I got to feel people's happiness and love, it made me forget all of the bad feelings that I have felt in the past.

I walked up to the Mum and handed the small child over.

"Thankyou!" The mother cried out while kissing the child on the head.

" no problem" I responded as I walked away, back to my book that was sitting on the stool.

I picked it up and grabbed my small carry on bag, heading to gate 12.

Time to head to Forks, Washington.

Great! New house, new town and new blood.
