I'm running late today and will barley make it to the bus stop on time. I rely on the bus to get to and from work but today without the kids cooperation I may miss the bus. Today of all days would be the day that I'm late. I have a big work meeting and today it is my job to present the new ideas to our clients.
"Get up and get dressed. You'll be late for school" I yell up the stairs to Greyson.
I rushed out the door as soon as I heard his feet hit the floor. I didn't have to worry much about Serenity as she's been up since 6 o'clock. I get out of the house and I see the bus waiting for me. I take off my shoes and make a run for it hoping I will get there in time.
The ride to work is always slow and steady but she always makes sure we arrive at our destinations on time.
"Rough morning?" Carmen asked as I began to put my shoes on.
"Yeah Greyson is getting harder and harder to wake evert morning and the babysitter I'd of no help seeing as she always deals with Serenity as soon as she gets there." I said
"He's at that age where he's going to push you until you snap. Try not to snap." She said smirking at me.
"I'm just frustrated. I have a meeting today that will hopefully get us another new client but if I'm not there we will loose them."
"Relax ma, everything will work out for you."
"Thanks I really appreciate it."
The conference room is full of people when I arrive but I wasn't late and I wasn't the last one there. I set up everything I would need and waited for my cue to real them im.
"Running late today?" My boss asked
"No sir just had a tough time getting the kids up." I said slightly embarrassed that I blamed my children for almost making me late.
Everyone watched and listened to me as we talked and pitched idea after idea. We talked about the budget and time lines for the project. All seemed to be going well and after three hours I'm back at my desk hoping and praying for an approval. I had message after message from the school and Jade. Jade was frantic and Serenity was crying in the back round. I thought things couldn't get any worse but, they were about too.
