The sound of birds chirping filled my ears. I listen carefully, hearing in all directions, talking to each other in the only way they know. I open one eye slightly, staring up at the leaves moving with the crisp wind in the grey sky. It was almost like the fluttering leaves of autumn that danced until they dropped, gently swaying till they hit the ground. In front of me, I look down and see a sulking, dying, almost mustered colored with its petals falling to the barren ground. To think, it once was a beautiful flower only to fade away with the wind. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard the sound of twigs being crushed under someone's feet, along with the peaceful vibe that surrounded me.
"What is it?" I mumble in a very stern tone, not looking back.
The strange and very scrawny looking man with a charcoal colored, wrinkled hat gulped taking a step closer.
"Your father has requested you to come see him."
"I don't want to see him."
    "But he-"
"What did I just say?" I turned around quickly clenching my teeth. I stared directly into the mans eyes with my expression softening. As I turned back to my original position, I look a deep and long breath before meditating once more. The man was quiet and I hoped he wouldn't speak again, but i didn't wanna get my hopes up. The man took a long pause before managing to say,"Alright ... as you wish." He began to leave finally and my eyes refocused on the dying rose. I watched another petal fall. I shut my eyes once more and attempt to relax, yet again hearing the birds. "You might regret your decision." The man mumbled to break the silence before walking back into the barren wilderness. I sighed seeing nothing but the darkness of my eyelids until I open my eyes. I wore a grey hoodie with black patches of dirt stained to it. I adjusted the hood I was wearing on my head then took it off.  Scooting off the mossy stump, I followed the man who had already put a great distance between us. The walk almost seemed endless.
