Chapter One- First Day
First day back at school... where did the summer go?
Got to school and was chilling out by my locker with my best friend Joao. Joao has been my best friend for as long as I can remember, Many of our friends suggested that we should get together, but I don't think so. He's too good of a friend and I don't want to lose him. Besides, I have my eyes on someone else...
"Did you hear, we have a new girl starting today?" Joao asked me.
"Really, where's she from?" I ask.
"I don't know, I just heard on Facebook" Joao shurgged.
A tanned lad with dark hair came up behind me and winked over at me suggestively. His name is Zayn Malik; he is one of the coolest guys in school. He and a group of his mates started a band and most of the girls in school had a crush on him, including me (but no one, not even Joao or Zayn himself knows that)
"Hey, Lozz what's up" he smiled at me as he left.
"Yeah..." Joao turned to me "We best get to class" I was too distracted by Zayn to notice.
Later...in class
"Good morning class. Hope you had a great summer" Mrs Jefferson droned on. Yeah, we want to have summer back, please and thank you.
"We have a new girl starting today. She's come all the way from America. Please kindly welcome Sierra to our class" she said overly dramatically. Especially about the America thing. A snall skinny girl with long brown hair and blue eyes came in through the door.
"THAT'S the new girl?" Joao leaned over to me.
"HEY! I think she's kind of cute" Niall shouted from the back. Niall is a mate of Zayn's and is in his band. A few girls have a crush on him too. He, like Sierra is a student that came to us from another country. So now we have three students from other countries; Niall from Ireland, Joao from Portugal and Sierra from America.
"H..Hi" she said shyly as she took seat next to me.
"Hi" I smiled cheerfully. "I'm Laura"
"Nice to meet you. I love what you've done with your hair" she smiles at me, admiring my dark red and dark purple highlights.
"Thanks, had them done over the summer" I giggle.
""Looks nice on you, Lozz" Zayn shouted from the back row.
"Ooooh is he your boyfriend?" Sierra turned to me and smiled.
"No way!" I protest. I can't let anyone know I have a crush on Zayn. I'm not even sure if he would return my love even if he did know I loved him. Niall seemed very interested in Sierra though. He just kept staring at her.
First lesson: Spanish
So our first lesson of our first day back was Spanish. Joao didn't take languages with me, so I happily sat next to Sierra while Zayn and Niall sat behind us.
"Hola clase" Miss Lorenzo, "Today I would like you guys to write a sentence about what you did over the summer"
I got seriously into it and started writing up a really long, elaberate paragraph in Spanish.
"Wow Laura, slow down. She only asked for a sentence" Sierra exclaimed when she saw my work.
"Languages are Laura's best subject" Niall smiled as Sierra turned to stare back at him.
"Is that lovebirds I see at the back there cause I don't see a lot of work being done" Miss Loranzo shouted in order for us to hear her.
"Laura..." she then called out to me. "Read us what you have..."
"What, the whole paragraph?" Niall moaned.
"Just one sentence will be fine" the teacher smiled.
"Durante el verano, fui a Austria con mi familia" I said as fluently as possible.
The whole class just sat in amazement.
"Wow, you are good at languages" Sierra said.
"She takes all three; French, German and Spanish. Goodness knows how she does it all" Zayn smile as he talked to Sierra.
Second lesson: Music
"Hey there guys. So glad you guys are back and ready to rock and roll" the music teacher, Mr Matthews eccentrically said.
"Is he always like this?" Sierra leans into me.
"Yeah pretty much" Niall shrugged. Seriously, what was with these two? They had just met and they were getting closer and closer.
Maybe they are interested in each other...
