Running from the disaster that befell my pack I cling to the only thing left in my life, my daughter. Her small body pressed tightly to my bloody body, I long to arrive to the town that I can hide her at. From the day we had the threats I sent my closest friend to search for a human family that could take her if we could no longer hold our own.If I can get her there I can die knowing she will be safe and be thankful she wont follow her family to the grave.

Running for hours I was beginning to feel my body slow as it ran out of energy. As if the goddess herself gave pity to my state the town came into view, using the last bit of stored energy I had I forced my legs to move faster.

It wasn't long before I found the house, trying not to cry I walked to the door and bent down. Gently I placed her blanket wrapped body on the doormat. Tears rolling down my face I took my pendent off and tucked it in her hand.

"May this be the reminder of where you come from Serena, never doubt that we loved you." I kiss her forehead and take in my last view of her, her porcelain face showing no knowledge of what has happen around her.

Standing I ring the doorbell till the sound of movement inside assured me they woke up. I take off, praying to our goddess that she will live happily and know not of why this happened.
