I walked over to my car. It took me forever to save up for it, but once I got all the money put together it was worth every penny.
"Wow. This is your car?" Asked miss mystery girl.
I gave a little giggle because that's how everyone responded when they saw my car. The car did have its charm I mean it still would take my breath away every time I saw it.
"Yeah and its my baby." I said as I leaned over to gently hug the hood of my car.
I heard her let out a quiet giggle. I smiled and unlocked the car. Walked over to the passenger side and motioned for her to get inside the car. She smiled and got in. I shut the door and walked over to my seat. I turned the car on and waited for Clay to drive.
The drive was terribly quiet. I reached over to turn the radio on, but I guess that this very attractive stranger had the same idea going threw her heard.
Our hands met at the radio. It felt goosebumps tingle from my hand all the way up to my neck.
We made eye contact and I felt my heart skip a beat. She had the prettiest eyes. Anyone could fall in love just by looking into those eyes. Looking into those green eyes of hers felt like coming home. And that was different for me cause I didn't have the feeling of home to often. It felt nice for a change.
I realized that we had been intimately staring into each other's eyes for a while. I kept staring for a few more seconds and then put my focus back onto the road. I put bot of my hands on the wheel again and cleared my throat.
"I never got your name" I said in almost a whisper.
"It's Shannon" she answered.
Even her name was beautiful.
"Can I ask you something?" Shannon said shyly.
"Yeah sure anything" I said getting a little nervous.
"Where did you get that scare from?" Shannon said quietly, but not to quiet to the point where I count hear her.
I was a little thrown back from this question cause my mind was flying everywhere. I didn't really wanna talk about my scares. Especially the one on my hand.
"Oh you saw it...." I said trying to avoid eye contact again.
I knew if I looked into her eyes she would get me to tell her. And that was the last thing I needed.
Shannon reached over to my hand and rubbed around my scare. The touch of her skin on mine gave me goosebumps. Not the bad kind the kind you get when you feel butterfly's in your tummy. Or when you get your fist kiss on the playground when you're little.
"You know you can tell me" Shannon said as she kept rubbing my hand," look I know we haven't known each other for very long but you can trust me."
I was fighting so hard not to look over at her, but I stayed tough and kept my eyes on the road.
"It was nothing" I said in a stern voice.
"Alex it can't be.."Shannon said but I interrupted her.
"Just drop it." I said but this time with a little more mean in my voice. I pulled my hand away and turned on the radio.
Shannon let out a quiet sigh and put her hands in her lap. I know I was a little harsh but It was going to take a lot more than rubbing my hand for me to open up to a stranger.~~Moments later~~
Clay was driving so slow I could have fallen asleep before we got to the park. And every second I was in this car next to one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen I could feel my anxiety grow. My hands were getting sweaty and slippery. I wanted to apologize to Shannon for reacting the way I did earlier, but I couldn't find my words.
My mind was spy-rolling every where.
/why did she even invite me??? Why would she want to ride with me? Hold on... Why did I agree to come!?!? I don't even know these people. For all I know they could be planing to sacrifice me as their vergin or something!\
"I'm sorry if I stepped over the line...its just...you so mysterious. And and I'm around you I feel like I've known you for longer than I have. I guess what I'm trying to say is...I'm sorry" Shannon said with a little regret in her voice.
Her saying the words 'I'm sorry' made me feel guilty for being so harsh. I was trying so hard not look over but I couldn't resist anymore.
I looked over at her and the moment I did I regretted it instantly. I could see that she was really sorry and that broke me. It pushed me to tell her something I've never told anyone. I looked away from her and back into the road.
"My dad...he ugh was..." I said as u realized I was running out of time to tell her.
Once again she comforted me by putting her hand on my arm.
Clay was driving the car in front of me and he suddenly turned left. I slowed down and followed him. After about thirty seconds of driving straight forward I drove past a sign that said 'Le lagoon' (lol I got that off of spongebob)
Clay parked his car and I parked next to him. I turned of my car and looked over at Shannon. I let out a sigh and said,"can we finish this later?"
"Yeah whenever you are ready stranger" Shannon said with a smile. And that's when I realized that her smile could brighten up a dark room.
I giggled as I got out of the car. I looked at everyone and then i looked at my surroundings. There was a swing set with a slide and next to that was a breath taking lake. With the light of the midnight moon light reflecting off the water it made it look like is does in the movies. There where a couple of trees around the lake. And there was three trees next to what looked like a barn. The view of everything was mesmerizing. I felt as if time had froze for a couple of moments.
