"Man, I feel bad for whatever Jack is looking at." Levi says as I continue to glare daggers at him. Just seeing his face makes my blood boil.
"Okay, how about instead of glaring at people we actually start our work." Esme says while pointing at the paper on her desk. Even though it's the first day back in class, Mrs. Mendez decided it would be a good idea to start the year off with a group project, even though there's only going to be two groups. The project is that we're supposed to create a skit in Spanish, being as creative as we can be.
"Okay, so I'm thinking we should make it like a soap opera but with a funny twist, because who wouldn't-"
"Sorry I'm late Mrs. Mendez, what did I mi- whoa, where's everyone at?" Some guy says as he rushes over to Mrs. Mendez to give her his pass and nearly trips on his way over to an empty seat. She pinches the bridge of her nose in a sign of irritation before looking over at the guy in disbelief.
"Oscar how did you even manage to be late on the first day back at school? And where are your shoes?" She asks him as he just gives her this big smile and pulls a pair of old green Converse out of his bag.
"It's okay, I remembered to grab them this time." He replies back. Clearly he's forgotten to wear shoes before, but at least he has clean socks on.
"Great, well you've missed half the class so you'll just have to be filled in by your group." She tells him as he just stares at her, obviously still confused as to what to do. "That means go join one of the groups Oscar, and please put your shoes on." And with that she turns back to her laptop.
We begin to continue working, figuring out just how we should word it to make it as creative as possible while still adding the drama of a soap opera and the hilarity of a comedy when that Oscar guy comes and sits with us.
"Hey, I was wondering if I could work with you guys, and gal, since the other group already has four members and you guys' skit thing sounds way cooler and more fun than theirs." He says while taking a seat by Esme, leaning in to read over the notes we've already taken. He seemed pretty excited over the few things we already had on the paper, writing down some things aswell.
"Well I guess you can join us, you've already began contributing more ideas than Levi here has." I say, causing us all to laugh as Levi pouts, and for the rest of the class we all joked around and began to prepare our script for the skit until the bell rang.
We agreed to meet up at lunch and I went to my locker to prepare for next class when someone stands by my locker. I look up expecting Esme since our classes are close by each other, but instead I'm met with the face of the devil.
"Long time no see, dear old friend. How's life?" He asks as if we were actual friends when we both knew we were far from ever being friends.
"What do you want, Andrew? I have a class to get to and I doubt you're in it." I say, making sure my annoyance towards him was clear through each word I spoke. It must have not been since he grabs my schedule from my locker and compares it to his, looking thoughtful while doing so.
"Hm, that's weird. It looks as if we both have Mr. Hale this hour. Didn't you say we don't have the same class?" He says, stupid smirk plastered across his face. I groan loudly, wondering why the universe hated me so much.
"I literally hate your existence." I tell him, sending him a quick glare before heading to class. Today was definitely going to be a long day.
