At the moment, Calibur and I were standing in the practice room in search of a song that'll fit me.
So far, we found nothing.
"Come on. Just try it out. You don't even have to keep it," Cal said as he tried to encourage me to sing a song he picked out.
"Why? I for sure know that that song isn't me and we have to find one that fits what I want to be." I flipped through pages and pages filled with music suggestions.
"Come on, Ever. Just try it," Cal kept on insisting.
"Ev, ev, Ever, won't be forever," Cal sung out, out of tune. And that's saying something since he is a professional singer.
I balled up my hands into fists when he wouldn't stop singing that my head began to pound.
"Cal," I seethed out in anger. "You better stop before I go over there and shut you up myself."
Instead of taking my threat seriously, Cal turned on the stereo after plugging in his phone and Labrinth Beneath You Are Beautiful began to play.
"You tell all the boys "No"
Makes you feel good, yeah.
I know you're out of my league
But that won't scare me away, oh, no," Cal sang out in perfection, I was stunned for a moment.I know Calibur is a singer for his profession and is well known for his vocals, however, I haven't heard his music before, so I had every right to be outright stunned into silence.
"You've carried on so long,
You couldn't stop if you tried it.
You've built your wall so high
That no one could climb it,
But I'm gonna try," Cal circled around. It felt like he was singing the song to me with the way he was staring me down."Would you let me see beneath your beautiful?
Would you let me see beneath your perfect?
Take it off now, girl, take it off now, girl
I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight?" He tugged at my shirt to emphasize his point, which I just smiled, rolling my eyes at him and whacking his hands away."Come on Everly. Just try," Calibur said as the girls part came up. I sighed in frustration as I gave into him.
"You let all the girls go
Makes you feel good, don't it?
Behind your Broadway show
I heard a boy say, "Please, don't hurt me"You've carried on so long
You couldn't stop if you tried it.
You've built your wall so high
That no one could climb it,
But I'm gonna try," I sang out the best I could. I saw Cal tense up as I continued with the song, lyrics flowing out of my mouth effortlessly."Would you let me see beneath your beautiful?
Would you let me see beneath your perfect?
Take it off now, boy, take it off now, boy
I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight, oh, tonight?" I sang to him as I tugged at his collar of his button-up shirt, the same he did to me a couple of seconds ago.A smile formed on my lips. I was having fun singing with him. As I continued with the song, Cal shot me a grin as he stared at me. He walked backwards out of the room before turning away from me and running out into the hallway.
I had no idea what he was doing. He took his phone with him, with the music still playing.
"Continue singing," he shouted over his shoulder as I followed right behind him, doing as he said.
"See beneath, see beneath,
I...
Tonight
I..." I sang."I'm gonna climb on top your ivory tower
I'll hold your hand and then we'll jump right out
We'll be falling, falling but that's OK
'Cause I'll be right here
I just wanna know," Cal and I sang together in the middle of the hallway."Would you let me see beneath your beautiful?
Would you let me see beneath your perfect?" He sang solo as he took my hands in his."Take it off now, girl, take it off now, girl (take it off now, boy, take it off now, boy)," I sang with him, he twirled in his arms. I smiled as I shook my head at him.
"'Cause I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight," he let go of me as he turned away, dramatically."Oh, oh, oh, tonight?" I sang first as he entered on the last word.
"See beneath your beautiful," I sang, walking over to him. If he wanted to act as we sang, I'll play along.
"Oh, tonight." He sang then looked at me.
"We ain't perfect, we ain't perfect, no.
Would you let me," I sang, pulling him with me, as I walked backwards, back to the studio."See beneath your beautiful," we sang together at the end of the chorus, as I tugged on Cal's hand to make our way back to the room.

Before we could leave the hallway, we heard claps and cheers. I looked over my left shoulder to see a tiny crowd at the bottom of the staircase.
I quickly looked over at Calibur. He was already looking down at me, then his eyes looked further down where our hands were connected together. I dropped his hand like it was on fire.
"If you wanted to hold my hand you could have just asked," he gave me a smirk. "I would have been willing. That is if you asked nicely."
He walked back into the room. I stood in my spot paralyzed at Calibur's words, already forgetting there was a crowd on the floor below us.
"What," I said perplexed. I entered the room, storming right after Cal. "I did not want to hold your hand."
"Uh huh, sure. Whatever you say, princess," he said with a mischievous grin on his face.
"Don't call me that," I grumbled, taking a seat on the other side of the room.
I knew that arguing with Calibur would have been pointless so I didn't even try.
"Oh, I think I just found your song." Cal jumped out of his seat, excitedly.
"What makes you so sure? You don't even know me," I said without looking his way as I continued to flip through pages of songs but I didn't find any that would fit me.
"Trust me. I know enough to be able to pick out a song for you." He handed over his expensive looking phone, a song playing on the screen.
"Perfect," I smiled, looking up at Cal.
I didn't know how he did it, but I was just grateful that now I no longer had to flip through pages full of songs.
