Dean's POV

We drove back to the facility in silence. None of us knew how to react to the possibility of Tammy being able to make our powers dissappear. Are they gone forever or just temporarily? I didn't have the answers. No one would.

Finally, Dru broke the silence, "I don't think we should tell Tammy about this yet. All this is new to her. If she finds out that she is the only person in the world with the ability to take powers, she'll freak for sure."

We all agreed and then the silence took over us again.

We slowed to a stop at the front of the facility. I noticed Tammy's car was gone. Derek must of made her go home and get some rest. I chuckled at the thought of the fight they must of had.

"Dru and I will get the gear. The rest of you can go in and tell Derek what happened. We'll be there in a minute," I told the group. They all gave me tired nods as they walked off.

Unsurprisingly, Anna bounded away with them, touching plants and flowers as she ran. I could feel the joy radiating from her, she was not afraid to touch anymore. I smiled at her tiny retreating frame.

Dru snapped me out of the bubble Anna's feelings had created, "What's wrong man? You've never wanted help before."

I shrugged, trying to play it cool, "I asked Tammy out and I need some help picking a place to take her. I want it to be nice."

Silence from Dru was never a good thing. It either meant that he was scheming or that he was mentally trying to calm himself down.

It was only then that I felt the waves of jealously rolling off him.

Shit, I realised, my best friend likes the girl of my dreams.

Tammy's POV

I was still angry at Mr Slade for kicking me out last night. He'd challenged me to a hand to hand combat fight, being that if I lost I had to go home. I'd stupidly accepted.

Turns out Mr Slade can kick butt when he tries really hard. I wish someone could of told me that.

So without anyway of knowing how the ambush went, I'd tossed and turned all night in turmoil. I prayed that they were safe and unharmed.

The next morning, I waited at the front of the school, hoping that my friends would turn up.

I let out a gust of breath as I saw them approaching. Relief filled me as I ran up to Dean and flew into his arms. He stumbled a little but quickly righted himself, a small chuckle escaping him.

"Hello Empress. I can see you were kindly waiting for us," Dean said mockingly, the Twins laughed.

I ignored Dean and looked around the group. The Twins, Anna with her usual leather gloves on and Vanessa, who was glaring at me intently were all there. I groaned inwardly, what have I done to Vanessa now?

Wait a second, I quickly scanned through my friends again. Dru was missing. Blood drained from face and my heart started pounding frantically. Where was Dru?

Dean, sensing my uneasiness, placed a calming hand on my shoulder, "He's fine Tammy. He uh, got a lift to school with someone else this morning."

I could feel the tension in the group at the mention of Dru's whereabouts.
