I'm sure those of y'all in America have seen the headlines about the shooting in Dallas that killed 5 police officers. I first noticed flags at half mast when we got into the town my camp is in when we were on the way home and I asked what happened. I've never been hit with realizing I'm back in the real world after camp so fast. It broke my heart to know that while I was having the time of my life in the little bubble of the world that is my camp, the families and friends of these men were suffering. I don't live that far from Dallas (but it's still kinda far) so I see it on the news multiple times a day. Dallas needs prayer right now y'all. But seeing all the officers in law enforcement and all the people, including Obama, the Vice President, and Bush, who came to speak and attend memorials and all the stuff set out infront of the squad cars has been amazing. So many people have been praying and I thank you for that.
Joshua 1:9 (NIV) says,
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
Our law enforcement officers are so brave, they put their lives on the line every day and they are a brotherhood all over. So many officers have been coming from all over the country to support Dallas PD, to pay respects, and to pray. They're so brave. I thank everyone in law enforcement for all that they do.Matthew 5:9 (NIV) says,
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."A lot of people hate law enforcement, but these people are children of God. They serve every day when they go to work. Be thankful for them, and when you pass them on the streets or see them in public, say thank you, wave, or give them a smile. They deserve it.
Romans 13:1 (NIV) says,
"Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."All officers have been appointed by God Himself. Respect them. Thank them. Love them. Just last week the Dallas PD went to work and told their families they'd see them later, but five of those families didn't know that that would be the last time they saw their dad, husband, brother, friend, etc. and others didn't know they'd recieve the call that a loved one was shot in the line of duty. Now so many have come together to show support and I thank you for that.
For those of you who know people in law enforcement, tell them thank you for me. Everyone tell all law enforcement thank you.
I pray for Dallas tonight, and for all first responders, especially police officers, who put their lives on the line every time they go to work. I lift of the families and friends of the 5 men who were killed, and for those who were injured. God's here for you, He won't leave you in this time of loss. I pray for the safety of all members of law enforcement as well. Thank you for all that you do.
Amen.
