The Truth

The Truth Comes Out

He walked into the station, not talking to anyone. He had a goal, no more lies, no matter what it cost him. He owed it to Juliet, even if she hated him, he loved her and would never stop.
Gus ran behind him, trying to stop his best friend from ruining his life. Lassiter and Juliet notice the distress that the Psychics best friend is in and rush over to him as Shawn enters the Chiefs office.
"What's going on?" The head detective asks. Instead of answering Gus turns to Juliet.
"He's going to tell thanks to you!" He yells at her, so upset that Shawn would throw his life away like this.
"Shouldn't everyone know the truth? What's the harm?"
"He's about to be arrested and put in jail for who knows how long." Jules face is filled with shock and concerned.
"What?"

*In the Chiefs office*

"I have something to tell you." He blurted out. The Chief stopping what she was doing immediately.
"Another vision Mr. Spencer?" Her voice sounds bored.
"No. I have to tell you the truth." His head turns slightly as he hears Gus yelling in the other room. "I'm not Psychic."
"What Mr. Spencer?"
"All those cases I've solved have been with tricks my dad taught me. Noticing things others miss. A perfect memory and recreation. I'm not Psychic." Vick stands up.
"Do you know what this means Mr. Spencer?"
"Yes, and I'm ready to accept it." The Chief walked to her door. When she opens it she calls for McNab.
"Cuff Mr. Spencer please." The confusion is clear on his face. "Do it McNab. Gently." The one word at the end makes Shawn do a double take.
As the cuffs are place on his wrists behind his back he notices the hesitancy.
"It's okay McNab. I deserve this." When he's escorted out of the Chiefs office he's surrounded.
"What's going on Spencer?" Lasseter asked.
"Carl," He's taken aback by his first name coming out of Shawns mouth. "I'm not Pychic. Just perceptive, like my father taught me."
"So," Juliet asks. "Why are you being arrested?"
"Obstruction of justice. On the first case Chief Vick told me that if I ever turned out to not be Pychic I would be put in jail."
"Why did you tell then? You could keep up the act forever." Lassie asks, adding in a suprising compliment.
"Juliet found me out. I knew she would never tell but I don't want her going down with me."
"That's why you didn't tell me? I thought you didn't trust me. You were trying to protect me." Tears fall down Juliets face. "Oh my gosh. This is all my fault." She wraps her arms around him and even though he can't do the same he rests his chin on her head.
"It was bound to come out eventually. I love you Juliet. Please remember that." As he's taken to a cell the last thing he hears is Lassiter yelling at Vick. Saying "Why him! He's the biggest asset we have! And he is one of our own!"

See what I did at the end. Lassie's always saying on the show that Shawn isn't one of their own. Granted I've only watched up to the middle of session 5 and I might have read up on what happens. But it still counts.
