Walkers to the left of me, walkers to the right, I took a path through the center of them all, trying my best to savor the remaining bullets in my Colt Python revolver. Sweat rushing down my cheeks, I found myself running into a wired fence. Without wasting any time, I hopped straight onto it, and safely landing on the other side, leaning down to catch a breath. I looked straight ahead, sighing; even though I'm out of breath, I have to keep moving. Without hesitation, I lifted myself firmly off the ground, wiping the sweat off my with my sleeve. I continued to move forward. I glanced behind to see the Walkers struggling to climb the fence. Heh, they looked pretty dumb to me. Right then, I knew what I had to do. I had to find help, fast. I'm low on ammunition and these two water bottles won't keep me going for long. Safe for now, I decided to rest in an alleyway. The darkness of it made me shudder, but it's either this or I can be zombie bait. Yeah, I think I can handle the darkness.
With the daylight shining bright in my face, right then, I had realized that I had fallen asleep. I thanked God that I still had my life; I guess all that running really did tire out my body. My bag with my water and weapons was no longer with me. I could have sworn that I had it in my lap last night. I walked to the exit of the alley way, looking both ways, the coast was clear. It seemed a little strange to me, maybe the whole Apocalypse thing was a dream, I thought. That would explain why my bag had disappeared. But how did I end up here? Seems a little strange to me.
I continued to wander further away from the alleyway, just to be disgusted by the sight of many half-eaten corpses. I threw up a little in my mouth and turned the other way. "It's just my imagination.." I told myself, before walking back the way I came from. I decided to walk to the other end of the alleyway, and hoped for the better. I saw several Walkers, just like what I saw in my dream, which shooken me a little bit. Maybe I wasn't dreaming after all. But what happened to my bag? I can't go out there without anything to protect myself with.
It was then that I finally realized that many of the Walkers were approaching me, looking as hungry as ever. With a sudden shreik, I quickly darted to the other direction. Without luck, I found myself running into a dead end. No passage to get around, over, or under this brick wall. I'm too short to attempt a jump for it. I was shaking rapidly, I don't want my life to end like this, being eaten alive ..so horrible it's going to be, I thought. I clasped my hands together and prayed to God for a painless death rather than this. All I heard were the groaning of the Walkers coming towards me. This is it, I thought.
"Hurry, grab onto this rope!"
I looked up to see a man in a police uniform lowering down a rope for me to grab ahold of. I didn't question, I grabbed on for dear life, as he pulled me up very quickly over the brick wall. I sighed in relief, my heart was pounding so hard, I could hardly breathe.
"T..Thank you.." I muttered.
"I couldn't just let you die like that." The man in the police man said, then putting his hand out in front of me. "I'm Rick Grimes."
"I'm Amber. And again, thank you so much."
"Were you scratched or bitten by any of the infected?"
I examined my body, and saw none of the sort. "Nope."
"Alright, come with us then." He demanded, and I did, without any arguement.
"What do you mean by 'us'?" I questioned, since I didn't see anybody else with him.
He pointed to a vehicle behind him and I nodded at him. I guess he recruited a lot of people during this disaster. I felt a little more comfortable going with him now. He led me to he vehicle, and I was greeted by two other men. One was an Asian, other seemed to be Redneck.
"Who's she?" The redneck one asked , while indicating a little bit of annoyance in his voice.
"Calm down Daryl. She isn't of any harm." Rick informed him as he started up the vehicle.
He grunted, and I smiled awkwardly. I hope I won't have any issues with this guy in the future.
We drove in the direction away from the city, and I shuddered slightly, since it was getting a little cold. I wandered my eyes around the area, and spotted something familiar in the lap of the Asian. I wasn't sure if I should say anything or not, I wouldn't want that Daryl guy to get mad at me for speaking.
"Camp site is to the right ." the Asian told Rick. I wondered how many people were going to be there.
I rustled my fingers together, and decided to ask him anyways. I tapped the shoulder of the Asian, and he turned and looked at me.
"What's wrong?" he asked me, in a kind voice.
I blushed nervously at him. "Where did you find that bag?"
He looked down at it, then back at me. "I found it in an alleyway, why?"
I breathed softly, feeling the tension of Daryl and Rick eyeing me. " That belongs to me."
The faces of the three men looked in disbelief, so I continued. "In there is a revolver..two bottles of water..and 5 bullets."
The Asian opened the bag, and widened his eyes and handed it to me quickly. " I apologize."
Daryl looked a little disappointed in the Asian's actions and I could tell just by the way he was moving in his seat. "Taking something that isn't yours, Glenn? Shame on you." He joked, and I chuckled slightly.
"No really..it's okay, I mean, it's just a gun with five bullets, no biggie.."
"In this sort of situation, five bullets is worth a lot." Rick said sternly, and we all nodded in agreement.
The car came to a stop, and the three men got out quickly, but I sat there. I wasn't sure if I should get out too, but I did anyways.
Glenn held his out in front of me as I was stepping out the car. "Here"
"Thank you." I mouthed out, with a friendly smile.
"How about I introduce you to everyone?" He suggested.
"Y-"
*High pitched scream in the background*
Everyone rushed out to where it was coming from, as I followed closely behind Glenn.
I covered my mouth in terror, along with many others.
"That poor girl..!"
