It's a word. It's just a word.
A 4 letter, 1 syllable word.
It's a powerful word,

Although not taken seriously enough,
That is, the majority of the time ..

But when taken seriously,
People tend to connect that word to;
Humanity,
Society,
The Past,
The Future,
The World.

To the ones really "laidback",
They replace the meaning of the word,
To the greedy wants they have;
Food.
Clothes.
Money.
Friends.
Popularity.

What is it?
Is that what they think of its importance?
Is that what they want to spend it on?
Is that all they think of?

It's those kinds of people who don't understand,
It's those kinds of people who are blinded of the meaning,
It's those kinds of people who don't think it over,
It's those kinds of people who use it carelessly,
It's those kinds of people who laugh it off,

But it's those kinds of people man,
That have taken over society.

I know,
I was like them.

They're everywhere.

From the teachers to classmates,
From the coaches to teammates,
From the bosses to employees,
From the optimistics to pessimists,
From the old to young,

From family to friends,
From you

Look at the person sitting next to you,
In the house next to you,
From the state next to you,
Everywhere all around you,

Do you see them?

Now now,
What is so wrong about all this?
It's not bad to care right?
About the food we call our world,
About the clothes we have define our ego,
About the friends that seem cool,
About the popularity that we crave.

See the italic words above?
It's innocent to care for them, to want them

You see the words that come after them?
That's when we screwed up.

Call me wrong,
My claim may not be strong,

You say who cares,
You say it doesn't matter,

Know that I care.

Know that it does matter.

Call me dramatic,
Tell me I'm wrong,

But I find this an issue,
I myself struggle with this,

Because I'm different,
Like everyone else is,

But when people start acting the same,
That's when I get confused,

Because I was told that it's okay to be different,
Then told to act a certain way,

That's when I refused.

The different resort to depression,
When they are confused,
Lonely,
and not accepted.

They resort to knives and suicide,
Has society really come to this?

Because we are all different,
And we don't accept one another,

That's when I tsk,
I'm too bewildered.

This is a big mess,
This poem is a big mess,

To the Heavenly Father we don't deserve,
I have hope, and that hope is you.
