Twenty Three ~ Telling Akira

I stand awkwardly outside Akira's dorm room, I keep reaching to the door so I can knock but I can't do it. I keep turning to walk away but then I walk straight back to the door, jeez, what's wrong with me? He is my best friend, he'll understand, right? Right.

I go to knock on the door when I put my hands by my side, I can't, I just can't. I lean myself against the door, he might not even be in...

The door opens and I fall flat on my face "I-I spoke to soon" I say sitting up rubbing my face. 

"Ayane!" Akira demands and goes to his knees and he cups my face "It is you! W-Wait, your eyes... no..."

I shove him back inside the room and shut the door behind me "I have something to tell you idiot"

"YOU'RE A VAMPIRE!" He shouts and I nod "H-How?"

"It's a long story..." I say

"Well I have 6 hours of school I can ditch, is that long enough for you?" He asks and moves himself so he can sit cross legged. 

I give him a small smile and nod and I tell him everything that has happened from the beginning and until I got to the bit where I turned into a vampire.

"...And that is how" I say running a hand through my pink hair sighing.

"Wow, I knew that Ash was up to something, what happened to him anyways?" Akira asks raising an eyebrow at me and it causes me to gulp.

"That's another thing, I have almost gotten myself in huge trouble with the vampire court. You see, we were having a ball, Ash broke the glass, he kidnapped me, I got free with help, there was a bit of rolling and Ash fell of the cliff and turned into ashes... I got a letter from the court and they said they would give me one more chance, if I do something else they said they will have to take things to a certain matter and probably have to kill me"

"Whoa, Ash in ashes, huh? And that court seems a bit off to me, surely other vampires commit crimes all the time and get away with it, like, sucking blood for instance" Akira says

"Apparently sucking blood doesn't count, if the person whose blood is being sucked enjoys it or lets the vampire do so, it isn't a crime. If they do it forcefully, it isn't a crime anyway..." I say "That's what I heard from Kaname"

"Dodgy" Akira says bluntly and itches his cheek "Listen about what I said when I liked you..."

"What? You don't like me anymore?" I ask raising an eyebrow

He shakes his head "No, I still like you, I... I can't have you, that Hanabusa has stolen you away from me and I feel so hopeless..." Akira hides his face.

I move his hands away "You're not hopeless, you can't say that about yourself, I mean, look at me, I used to hate vampires and I feel in love with one and now I am one... things may change but it doesn't make you hopeless"

Akira embraces me and holds me tight "This is what I love about you. I wish you were mine" He pulls away "I'll be supportive! I promise!"

I smile "Thank you, I'm so glad you understand, but you cannot tell anyone that I am here, I'll let you sneek in if you want to vis-" I am cut off as I cover my mouth.

"A-Ayane?" Akira asks reaching me.

"S-Stay away!" I demand and move away.

Rushing to the nearest bathroom I slam the door shut and hurl.
