Archie's POV
I took a deep breath as I entered my room, prepared for even more awkwardness between Kara and I. My eyes landed on my desk, where in the mess of papers something seemed out of place. I stared for a second and realization hit me like a truck. "The blue orb is missing!! Kara did you see anyone in here?!" Silence. There was no reply to my panic.
"Kara...?" It was deadly silent. I searched my room, trying to see if my mermaid friend was just playing a prank with me, but she was gone too. I searched through the Aqua base and found neither the pirate nor the orb. My panic increased and I went into a frenzy asking anyone and everyone if they knew where either of the two went, my main concern being Kara. "Shelly!!!" I screeched at my admin as I ran into a room with only her leaning over the shoulder of a scientist and watching his work. "What is it, Archie?" "Wheres Kara?!" Shelly rolled her eyes. "No clue, but maybe its a good thing shes gone, now she cant distract you or burn anyone else." I scowled Shelly, shes usually not like this..but then again she could be holding a grudge after she was torched. "Don't ever say that again, Shelly. Kara is very important to me and I think I really fucked up with her."
Not only had I messed up as a friend, but as a potential lover. I'm not gonna lie, shes a very beautiful lady and saying that I love her because shes my best friend is an understatement. But Ive known her for so long I doubt she sees me as more than her dimwit friend. "I saw her once and she left again to your room. Happy?" "I suppose so." I ran off and let Shelly resume her 'work'. I slammed my bedroom door open and screeched, "KARA WHERE ARE YOU?!" The moment I entered my room again I noticed my previously closed window was open. "How did I not notice that." I sighed and jumped out the window into the rather cold water.
I could've cared less about the orb, I just wanted Kara to be safe. When I hit the water flippers slid out of my shoes, a very handy addition to my wetsuit that Shelly helped make. I swam blindly to find my friend, I didn't even know if she jumped out the window, but here I was anyway! "Captain Drake, where the fuck are you?!" My calls for her were greeted with the crashing sound of waves in my ear. I feared the worst, I either lost her again, she's very injured but I cant find her, or she hates me for being so stubborn. I saw a flash of red move away in a panic, a shiny gyarados tail. "Kara!!" I dived underwater and chased after her. I swam until my face was blue from lack of oxygen, when Kara noticed this she grabbed me and surfaced. I hugged her tightly once I could breath again.
"Are you hurt?? Why'd you leave without saying anything to me?? Do you hate me?!" I bombarded her with questions she wasn't prepared for. "I thought you hated me! I figured it would be better if I left..." Kara refused to look me in the eye, seeming ashamed about something. I looked down at the bag slung over her shoulder and noticed a slight deep blue glimmer. "Whats in your bag? Did you find any cool rocks?" "Its nothing!! Just a seashell!" Kara hid her bag behind her back and smiles nervously.
"Well, let me see it." I held my hands out and waited for her to let me see the shell. "No, its too special." I glared and grabbed her bag, opening it to find the missing blue orb. "...Why do you have this?" I looked up at her, meeting her glare. "Its for your own good and the good of everyone else!" She snapped as she grabbed her bag back from my hands. "Whats that supposed to mean?!" I felt anger and betrayal after Kara taking what I worked so hard to get, but I still hoped it was just a misunderstanding. "If you go through with your idea, nothings gonna be like your plan! People will die!! I'm just trying to protect you..." I was livid, she knew how much my dream meant to me and she stole what could make it possible! "Give me the orb. Now." I demanded through clenched teeth. Kara kept the bag away from me, claiming that she knows what best for me. I grabbed her arm and yanked the bag out of her hands, stealing the blue orb back. "If you really knew whats best, you'd fucking leave!!" I threw the bag back at her, watching as her eyes flooded with tears and she rushed away.
Regret washed over me, I shook in disbelief of the words that just came out of my mouth. I cried like I did when I had to leave her behind. Kara didn't deserve me yelling at her, or my stubborn attitude and not wanting to hear her out. I sighed and swam back to my base, she'd be better off without me anyways. She'd find herself a mate that could treat her far better than I ever could. I marched inside and called Team Aqua into the lobby. "Everyone, get in a sub. The blue orb is back and we have everything we need to better the world. Shelly, Matt, you're coming with me to wake Kyogre. Everyone else, keep Magma scum away from us. Got it?!"
Everyone did as I asked flawlessly. My admins and I were making our way to the Cave of Origins. Shelly gave me a diving suit made special for this mission, and I was off to meet the mighty Kyogre. After a few minutes of diving, I was standing in front of the large sleeping pokemon. I took a deep breath, thinking about Kara, but I realized she probably couldn't care less about me anymore. I stepped up to it and held out the blue orb, watching as Kyogre became primal. It was both horrifying and amazing.
"Kyogre!! I need you to expand the sea and make the world so much better for pokemon than it is now, do you hear me?!" Kyogre let out a low grunt and made its way out of the cave, with me hitching a ride. I watched and made sure Kyogre made it out safely to complete his task before stepping out of the mouth of the cave, grinning as I thought about the look on Maxie's face once he discovers that I've won.
I was greeted with harsh rain, worse than any storm imaginable. I stared in horror at the people an pokemon desperately trying to hide from the bullets of water, holding on to loved ones in hopes that they don't wash away. "Oh god...what have I done..."
