*EXPLICIT*"Ugh! For the last time, Camila, that is not what I said!"
"Maybe not specifically, but I was reading between the fucking lines. Don't try to play me, Lauren, I know exactly what you meant by it."
"God, I am so fucking sick of this!" screamed Lauren as she threw her hands down. She could feel her face growing hot and red from the sudden anger coursing through her body.
Camila was slightly taken aback by Lauren's statement. Sick of what? What the fuck did Lauren mean by that? If she meant sick of the arguing, then Camila would have to say ditto. But if she meant sick of... of her... of their relationship... she didn't even know how to respond.
"Me fucking too..!" she hissed back at Lauren.
She was searching Lauren's eyes for any hint of give or tell to what exactly she had just agreed to being sick of. She was hoping, even more-so praying that Lauren would crack by her statement. Lauren couldn't... she wouldn't possibly want to give up on them... would she? The Lauren she knew would have already collapsed in a fit of tears, begging for Camila's forgiveness. Camila, would have acted mad and pissed for a little while, even slamming herself into her room, yet eventually coming around. Always, eventually coming around. But this time was not like every other fight they've had... Lauren had something completely different burning in her dark green eyes... something Camila had never seen before. And right now, she wished she never had.
Lauren wasn't angry anymore. She was hurt. Her eyes went glossy, however she did not crack. She looked down at her feet for a short moment before looking back up at Camila, who was standing with her arms crossed in complete defense mode.
"Fine," she half-whispered, her voice shaky and hoarse.
She then turned around and walked out of the apartment that the two shared.
Without feeling the need to hold it back any longer, Camila finally broke down. The mascara she was wearing was now running down her face after she had let herself fall onto the carpet that covered the living room. She was unsure how long she had laid there crying, but after she had let out all of the tears enough to feel numb, she picked herself up and went to bed. Lauren still had not come home.
~~~~~~
A week had passed, and Lauren had not returned back to the apartment. She opted instead for staying at home with her parents, as it was summer so there was really no reason to be staying an hour away in the town that her college resided in. Other than the fact that Camila was there. But this week, that was the one reason why Lauren wasn't there. She could not even look her girlfriend....ex...girlfriend..???... whatever Camila was, in the eyes. They hadn't even made any form of contact in that week, which was the longest the two had ever gone without communication. Typically, it was Lauren who would give in first, but not this time. She was going to wait it out. She was hurt, and it was about time for Camila to take responsibility for her own actions, get over herself, and tell Lauren that it was all her fault and that she was sorry. But it had yet to happen.
Lauren would have been lying if she said she wasn't worried. What if Camila's ego was too big to ever make the first move, a far as apologies are concerned? She didn't want to just walk away from everything that they had built, however if Camila couldn't do what Lauren so desperately needed her to do this one time, would she ever be able to? Was that something that Lauren would just be able to do deal with for the rest of their lives? The answer, no matter how painful it proved to be, was simply no. She could not just deal with that, because it was always Lauren who was hurt more. Love could only go so far, and that was just not fair to Lauren. She had to do this.
