A Letter

Narrator's POV

The two hedgehogs were in a car in the back seat being driven to their destination. They packed all their things, and put them in the trunk of the car. They sat in silence, as they drove to their destination.

They had both gotten a letter in the mail with all the information about the camp. They both figured out that they were sleeping in the same cabin, but it was a large one. That meant the two had enough room for themselves.

It talked about exercises they'd do and methods they'd use. There would be people just like them there, going through the same thing. They didn't have to pay for anything, it was organized by people just like them that wanted to help.

The food was no charge, electricity and things in the cabin that used electricity wouldn't fill you up with bills, they'd be paid for you.

Shadow's POV 

I flipped through the small guide they gave me in the mail. There were so many things in this camp. It looked like one of those camps that you see on TV...you know, where two boys from two different crowds get stuck together in a cabin. They don't like each other, but then when they're in trouble, they get out together and they become best friends.

Gosh, this is just too stupid. It's time wasting, that's what it is. I could be helping G.U.N with real problems, but no. They all think, because of that blue rat, I need help to control my emotions. I don't need help, I can control myself. They don't know everything about me... I've changed since the last time I tried harming this planet, I'm not the same hedgehog I used to be. Things have seriously changed inside of me.

Sonic's POV

This is so dumb! I don't need other people telling what I already know.

Oh, friends this and this...

Ah, and friends never fight and blah!

This is so dumb! That's not the worst thing... I have to share room with Shadow. You read that right, I have to share a cabin with this red streaked freak. Great, he's not only going to insult me in every way possible, but also torture me.

Punches and blows. Chaos spears and hard blows to the stomach. This is gonna be miserable! I bet you he won't stop bothering me, and will find every excuse to blame something on me. He just gets on my nerves.

It also said on the letter that we couldn't have locks or keys to our rooms, so for I know he could sneak into my room and choke me while I sleep...or even worse! He could pick up my bed and put in a lake near by, he'd laugh while I floated away. When I finally wake up, I'm at the edge of a waterfall, before I have time to react...I fall down to my doom.

I bet you right now he's planning something to get back at me for putting us in this mess, hey it's not completely my fault. He has problems of his own too. He's full of so much rage and anger when he fights, tells you how much he wishes I was dead.

Sure he might be looking peaceful and relaxed right now while he reads that guide, but in the back of his head I bet you he's thinking about a plan for revenge. He's thinking about ways to kill me, more like hurt me. The car was really quiet, but I knew inside he was boiling.

Narrator's POV

An few more hours later, they were close to their destination. The two hedgehogs both sat quietly as they stared out the window, but Shadow quickly took action when he noticed they drove past their camp.

"Driver, we just drove past our destination."

"I don't think so sir."

"Yes, the Wooden Log's Lodge." Shadow pointed out. Sonic looked behind them as they drove past it.

"Yeah, that was our stop." He pointed out.

"Um, no. I have printed directions to somewhere else." The driver said, handing them a piece of paper with directions on it. Shadow scanned it quick and raised a brow, Sonic took the paper from him.

"Let me see." He read it. "So the letters were fake." He said looking at it. "Driver, where are you taking us?"  He asked.

"Didn't you read?" Shadow asked shoving the paper up Sonic's face. "Isolation Point." He said crossing his arms.

"What?" Sonic asked, the driver took an exit, the city slowly faded and began to be replaced by tall pine trees and rocks. The road was private. Mountains soon surrounded them, now they were deep into the woods. "Where is this Isolation Point?"

"No one knows, Faker. It's a private place." The gravel road ended and began a dirt road covered in brown crunchy pine needles. "Now we're stuck in this place with no one else, except each other..." Shadow grumbled.

"WHAT?!" Sonic yelped. He took off his seatbelt. "Get me out of here! Someone!" He tried opening the door, locked. "Driver open the door."

"It'll only open when the car is in park." He stated.

"Stop this car, right now." Sonic ordered.

"I'm sorry, but I cannot do that. I was told not to stop, until we arrived." The driver stated.

"What?! Why?!" Sonic expanded his arms out. "This can't be happening..." He felt heavy and lifeless. "The walls are closing in on me... I can't breath! I can't-" He began pant like crazy.

"Oh, for the love of... Pull yourself together!" Shadow growled. "It's a negative energy field. We just crossed the mural." Shadow told him.

"Mural? What mural?"

"If you weren't getting all fussy about this, you'd seen it. It was purple and looked like a transparent lavender wall."

"And we went right through?"

"Yes." Shadow looked down at his wrists, his rings turned silver. "Smart, they drained our energy... That way we can't escape whatever is in these woods." Shadow stated.

"No running?!" Sonic shouted. He was so freaked, he needed to wrap himself into a ball for a while. Shadow just stared out the window.

Half an hour later, the car stopped. There was a large cabin outside the car doors. Shadow opened the door and caught a scent of the non polluted air. Sonic came out as well. They unpacked their luggage and stared at the house for a while. They both turned around when they heard the car behind them start.

Sonic knocked on the passenger window. "Where are you going?"

"I was told only to drop you off, not stay." Said the driver.

"Will we be hearing from you any time soon?" Sonic asked.

"Never. Have a nice trip." The driver had left us alone. The sky has darkened and crickets chirped loudly.

"Well...here we go." Shadow said picking up his things and heading inside. Sonic soon followed.
