Lolita's Point of View
Tiger and I never got the chance to talk the next morning because we both woke up late not leaving us enough ti me to talk. That was actually a total lie. We did wake up early, what we did next is what made us late. After a few rounds, I rushed out of his house and downstairs out the door, I went back to mine to change clothes.
As I got to school I walked through corridor I smiled at a few of my friends. As I rounded the corner to Tiger's classroom I heard the most ear piercing thing. BANG!
Before I could process what was happening everything became hectic, people running in every direction, yelling and screaming in absolute fear. I followed the direction everyone else was running, instead of heading to the gym I went into Tiger's door. He locked the door as I passed him sitting in an available chair next to a guy I haven't talked to in years.
Tiger stood to the side of the classroom turning off the lights and shutting the blinds making the classroom appear to be empty. No one dared to say a word. Tiger made his way to the front of the classroom to make an announcement. You could hear the crying of a few students in the back, Tiger said "I know that we all are scared but you have to be strong, the school has a procedure for this. We just have to wait it out."
A few people chorused in agreement but some remained silent, the guy next to me spoke up asking "what happens if they don't find the gunman, Mr Knight?"
Tiger frowned at the guy's question "Mr Stevenson, if they don't find the gunman the cops will question all the students, before that the police will check all the possessions of those leaving the school."
The student next to me, the one Tiger call Mr Stevenson had an evil grin on his face, he got up from his seat making his way to the door. I called out quietly "what are you doing, don't open the door!"
Before Tiger and I rushed to the classroom door, the student laughed out "oh, look at you two. The happy couple thinking alike."
Beth Tiger and I were taken back, Tiger said "Mr Stevenson there is nothing going on between Lolita and I."
The guy laughed "oh Lolita, Lolita, Lolita stopping trying to fool yourself we all know there is something going on, tell me the truth Lolita, I know Mr Knight will lie. For example, he called you Lolita yet he addresses everyone else by their surname."
I nodded my head "yeah he did call me Lolita but he has known me since I was born. That is a long time and it's even hard for me not to call him his first name."
The guy let out an evil laugh "oh you Lolita I have proof of the relationship, I have crushed after you since freshman year and do you think that you have paid me any attention? No, you haven't but when I saw you and Mr Knight leave the bar together I knew something was up. Especially when I noticed that you and Ella, your best friend haven't been talking like you used to. All these idiots around me never even noticed anything was off between any of you."
I went to walk up to him but he pulled a gun out of his bag pointing it at Tiger's head. I brought my hands to my mouth to prevent me from making a shriek of fear. Tiger said, "keep me and let everyone else, Ryan."
Ryan chuckled "Tiger I won't let that happen, you don't mind me calling you Tiger right? Of course not, I have a gun pointed to your head." He finished saying by yelling to make his point.
I asked, "what is the point of this Ryan?"
Ryan moved the gun to my direction repeating what I said "what is the point of this, the point of this is because I am tired. I am tired of being pushed around, being spoken at by everyone including teachers and especially students. How do you think it feels to be in a crowded hallway and not even one person throws a glance in your direction? At the beginning of the term I had a month off, do you think a single person noticed I hadn't been there, a whole month and no one even questioned my absence not even one of the teachers. How do you think it feels to be bashed every day, have your money taken? Even having your younger brother witness, the cruelty of high school students then go home to tell your parents that he has a wimp for a brother? It sucks, to be honest, but what sucks the most is having the girl you like not even notice you because she is so caught up in her teacher."
A jock behind me yelled, "it must suck but its high school, you aren't the only one to go through that."
Another student commented under their breath a little too loudly "the only one to bring a gun to school with them though."
Tiger took that opportunity to move me behind him, Ryan turned back to face us. Grabbing some tape off Tigers desk he through it over to the jock, he said "tape a line away from the door, anyone to pass that line I will shoot."
The jock said, "there is enough of is to take you on!"
Ryan laughed pointed to every person he referred to "do you want to be shot?" He pointed to the bad boy sitting in the back "or you Mr goody?" He asked the boy holding tightly to his backpack, He pointed over to Tiger asked "or should it be you, sir, leaving me your precious Lolita?"
Tiger spoke through gritted teeth "no one here is getting shot because we won't cross the line."
Tiger took my hand in his pulling me over to a free table, together we sat down. I had my head against Tigers shoulder, I whispered in his ear "do you think there are more shooters out there?"
Tiger shook his head "from what he has been saying I believe he is the only person here with a gun."
I nodded my head letting a tear slip from my eye I whispered "how could our brilliant morning together go from perfect to this?"
Tiger wiped the tears away from my cheeks "nothing bad is going to happen to us baby, I will make sure of that."
